Background: Methadone and buprenorphine can reduce overdose-related mortality. Behavioral approaches also fatal overdoses. The current study examined the relationship between methadone overdose history prevention treatment behaviors. Methods: Between December 2022 August 2024, 647 individuals who used opioids in prior month enrolled a community recruited on overdose. Participants were administered face-to-face survey. Key behaviors assessed included recency, testing drugs for potency, ingesting slowly, using fentanyl test strips, alone, carrying naloxone. Chi-square logistic regression models relationships outcomes. Results: In total, 32.9% of participants currently taking 15.5% buprenorphine. Most (69.2%) reported ever overdosing, among those, 33.7% had overdosed within 6 months. There no significant associations or status care multivariable model, use was associated with lower odds ratio (aOR = 0.49, 95% CI 0.30–0.79of recent compared to Daily almost daily crack greater 2.21, 1.44–3.39. Discussion: Findings suggest importance promoting people drug training them promote their drug-using network members other members.
