Abstract Gadopiclenol is a novel, macrocyclic high-relaxivity gadolinium-based contrast agent recently approved for use in magnetic resonance imaging of the central nervous system and body organs at dose 0.05 mmol/kg weight. Postmarketing surveillance its first year clinical United States America showed no serious adverse events (AEs) following over 882,550 administrations very low rate nonserious AEs (1 case every 27,580 exposures). The types observed were similar to those reported other agents use. Safety data from postmarketing gadopiclenol further confirm positive benefit-risk profile demonstrated preapproval studies.

Nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) is a rare, progressive, and sometimes fatal disorder found in patients with reduced kidney function. NSF characterized by skin thickening, painful joint contractures, of multiple organs. There an increasing recognition over the past decade one first papers to describe was paper Cowper et al 2000.[1] In 2006, Marckmann Grobner reported association gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs).[2] [3] 2006 2007, US Food Drug Administration (FDA) released advisory asked magnetic resonance (MR) manufacturers include box warning on risk NSF. By 2011, American College Radiology (ACR) Yale International registry had tracked 500 360 cases NSF, respectively. The incidence has been steadily decreasing last decade.[4]

In this review the authors focus on abnormal brain magnetic resonance imaging caused by drugs given to patients in any age group for disease. The includes viral infections with fever children/infections general, epilepsy, psychiatric diseases, multiple sclerosis, neoplasms, bone marrow/organ transplantations, total parenteral nutrition, vaccinations, oral contraceptives and other prothrombotic drugs, gadolinium deposition. Knowledge of patients’ diseases medications they receive is crucial establish correct diagnosis. absence these data a referral MRI scan can result completely wrong suspicions unleash unnecessary, complicated, time-consuming expensive diagnostics, causing additional stress their guardians.
