Purpose – Parenting Islamism not only makes religion a teaching material in children’s education, but more than that, is used as an ideology that displays Islamic symbols parenting actions the public sphere. The emergence of practices response to traditional and modern practices. This study aims explore practice millennial families based on Pontianak City. Design/methods/approach research method uses Mixed Methods Research approach, which combination qualitative quantitative methods. this provides understanding shifting authority carried out by parents with Islamism. Meanwhile, measure variables typology objectively. Data analysis was out; first, data reduced; second, categorization; third, preparation; fourth, verification; fifth, configuration relationship between inference problem formulation; sixth, analyzed theory. Findings findings show groups use mixed parenting, several models according condition child, be it authoritarian, authoritative, permissive. also there shift families, influenced new media so idolize popular ustadz from groups. implications/limitations has implications for parental figures or references due presence authorities social media, namely micro-celebrities. final, are still many limitations relevant cases, informants, theories, further needed accommodate other studies larger number informants Indonesia. Practical shows inseparable religious ideology, impact early childhood. emphasizes Muslim uniform, even religiously homogeneous families.
