Two-Stage Stochastic Optimization for Cost-Effective Energy Management in Grid-tied Microgrids

Effective
energy
management
is
essential
for
minimizing
operational
costs
in
grid-connected
microgrids
(MGs),
particularly
as
renewable
sources
such
solar
photovoltaics
and
wind
turbines
are
increasingly
integrated
into
modern
power
systems.
This
paper
presents
a
two-stage
strategy
aimed
at
the
total
cost
of
MG.
In
first
stage,
day-ahead
scheduling,
dispatch
optimized
using
stochastic
optimization
techniques
while
accounting
uncertainties

load
demand.

Carlo
simulation
generates
multiple
scenarios
to
assess
future
states,
facilitating
precise
decision-making

This
study
investigates
the
impact

phase
change
material
(PCM)
integrated
facades
on
indoor
thermal
comfort
and
occupant
perception
using
a
quantitative
approach.

questionnaire

employed
to
assess

Results
indicate
that
PCM
significantly
reduce
temperature
fluctuations

stability,
with
paraffin-based
PCMs
demonstrating
superior
heat
absorption

capabilities.

Nowadays,
