Abstract Pyrus pyrifolia is a common temperate fruit crop cultivated in Southern Brazil for production. Although this plant species found several Brazilian states (Paraná, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul), it predominantly concentrated the smallholder farming system Brazil. Our aim was to compare soil biota community composition, chemical properties, and quality two adjacent stands with different ages. Within each stand, we analysed influence of four organic residue management practices. results indicated that both studied stands, influenced by practices, exhibited differences quality. Acaridae, Araneidae, Blattidae, Halictophagidae, Opiliones were main contributors, explaining 78.08% variance data. The 16‐year‐old compost utilization, displayed high biodiversity organisms, average highest values quality, creating habitat predators providing energy litter transformers ecosystem engineers subtropical Acrisol. These findings contribute deeper understanding old on homeostasis, herbivory pressure, prey‐predation relationships. This, turn, may enhance interest establishing new plans commercial orchards.
