AbstractNewly acquired motor skills can be critically driven by different rest periods during practice. Specifically, in the initial stages of skill acquisition, interval between individual trials plays a pivotal role facilitating effective performance, such as case throwing. The objective this research was to determine optimal inter-trial period promoting efficient focusing on two specific task actions. In randomized counterbalanced cross-over design 169 high-school students aged 14 were studied (M = 150; F 19). one block, participants performed 10 basketball free throws with short (< 5 s) and other long (∼50–60 s). second they threw regular size tennis ball into 1-m diameter circle floor at 6.75 m, again throwing times interval. order intervals within each block counterbalanced. With repeated measures two-way analysis variance, greater accuracy seemed associated intra-set there significant main effects both conditions (F1,167 368.0, p < 0.001, η2p 0.271) resting time 18.6, 0.192) no interaction "condition time". Despite the recent decline in physical fitness, only a few studies were conducted on speed-agility (SA) trends and they have contrasting results about trend of SA.Therefore, aim this study was to evaluate SA performance Italian high school students compare with European normative data.Furthermore, we analyzed how adiposity indices related adolescents help coaches education teachers better tailor their activities.A total 627 aged between 14 18 years recruited 2019 from single Northern Italy. To assess used 10x5m shuttle run test, while anthropometric characteristics assessed weight, height, waist circumference, BMI, Waist-to-height ratio, TMI fat mass.SA found higher for 15 old males female groups, no differences other age groups.Age-related shows male students. The correlation showed poor relation (p<0.01) but not females. We that seems poorly (ranging 18).In addition, our is similar to, or even than, data Europe. These provide crucial information promote students.

Abstract Purpose: to compare the effects of plank strength levels over a 5-year period (2018 vs. 2023) considering impact COVID-19 pandemic in children and adolescents. Methods: This is retrospective longitudinal case study that employed quantitative approach, developed with schoolchildren from school located South Brazil. The initial sample consisted 221 students (58.8% boys) aged 6 11 years evaluated 2018 (baseline). same group was reevaluated 2023 (follow-up) when they were 16 years. assessment isometric test conducted by adapting "core" test. performed twice within session, best measurement recorded. Additionally, retest 7 days later. abdominal resistance through sit-up test, according protocol Projeto Esporte Brasil. Results: Regarding results pre-pandemic (baseline) compared post-pandemic girls, significant negative effect observed comparison raw values for Plank Test's first three measurements at baseline, follow-up. Similar boys as those seen both values, age-adjusted where no differences found. Conclusion: on remained stable period, despite pandemic, demonstrating consistent core schoolchildren.

Abstract Background. Physical fitness (PF), an important marker of health and well-being, is influenced by a multitude factors. This study aimed to quantify the associations social environment factors with different aspects PF among schoolchildren. Methods. Participants this cross-sectional were apparently healthy adolescents aged 11–18 years who attended regular secondary schools (n=4925, 51% girls). was assessed using 8-item Eurofit test battery. Social (parents’ education, family’s friends’ support for physical activity (PA)), personal motivation PA, actual PA level participation in organised sports status all derived questionnaires. Age- sex- adjusted body mass index (BMI) cut-points used classify as overweight/obese or not. Results. Up 45% variability levels explained utilizing from questionnaires adding BMI. Age, sex, BMI most strongly associated PF, while parents’ additional significant correlates However, familial current typically non-significantly PF. Conclusion. Parents’ motivation, social- activity-related adolescents.

Children tend to enjoy high-intensity activities that involve both linear speed (LS) and change of direction (COD), essential for sports performance. However, the results trends in LS COD have not been consistent over time. Therefore, our study aimed investigate temporal performance among 11–13 year old Italian children/preadolescents 25 years, while minimizing effect anthropometric characteristics. A total 3884 students were recruited between 1990 2010 performed 4 x 5-m shuttle run, 30-m sprint, 60-m tests. weighted regression was analyze overall BMI-adjusted The showed an increase mean run time, indicating a decrease ability, remained relatively stable These across genders ages. Our concludes test steady decades, ability declined with sex-based variations despite participants' early age. offer crucial data interventions improve children's physical fitness: particular PE teachers coaches should prioritize improving these abilities prevent fitness decline.

Abstract Objective : to assess the reliability of core "Plank" test, investigate its correlation with abdominal resistance strength, and examine longitudinal association before after COVID-19 pandemic in schoolchildren during transition adolescence. Methods The initial sample included 221 students aged 6 11 years 2018 (58.8% boys). These same were reevaluated between May June 2023, at ages 16 years. baseline assessments encompassed Plank Isometric Test Abdominal Sit-up (Dynamic Strength test). Due resource limitations, only test was conducted post-pandemic evaluation. To verify reproducibility plank two-way intraclass coefficient (ICC) used, also coefficients (r) calculated. Results final comprised 130 boys 91 girls, demonstrated high for both genders, ICC ranging from 0.623 0.869 0.695 0.901 as well Cronbach's Alpha (α) values, indicating internal consistency. results revealed significant correlations other physical fitness variables girls. Sit-Up showed moderate positive follow-up while boys, weak negative evaluation but became when adjusted age. Conclusion isometric strength is highly reliable children can be used an alternative measure school-aged children. Additionally, there a strong relationship sit-up strength-resistance which provides valuable insights assessment this age group.
