Forests are crucial for human well-being and the health of our planet, particularly due to their role in carbon storage climate mitigation. Mediterranean forests, particular, a vital natural resource region. They help absorb anthropogenic emissions, reduce erosion, provide essential habitats various species, which turn increases genetic diversity species richness. This study combines Random Forest Markov chain models propose highly accurate method predicting land use. approach offers substantial scientific support sustainable management policies. The methods used demonstrated excellent classification performance over time, allowing an examination evolution forests Aspromonte also provides foundation estimating stored above below ground using remote sensing images. model achieved impressive accuracy 98.88%, making it reliable tool dynamics forests. results this have significant implications urban planning change mitigation efforts.

Abstract As urban areas expand, the growth of human activities increasingly degrades ecological environment, causing a significant decline in vegetation, soil erosion, loss biodiversity, temperature elevation, and other adverse effects. If left unchecked, these effects can have severe consequences for living organisms inhabiting those areas. Evaluating correlation between development environment has become an urgent matter requiring attention from all countries, particularly establishing effective systematic environmental quality measures. Remote Sensing Ecological Index (RSEI) is one remote sensing method designed to analyze using four parameters: wetness, greenness, dryness, temperature. The aim this research spatiotemporally assess RSEI parameters Karawang Regency. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) results range 70% 80%. findings indicate that high temperature, open built-up land are negative driving factors. year 2021 had largest extent poor classification class, reaching 917.11 Km 2 , while 2019 smallest only 21.31 .

Interaction between humans and orangutans can hurt both parties. Crop losses heightened fear anxiety among local communities due to orangutan presence often contribute negative perceptions, which may influence actions towards these primates. Additionally, limited public awareness regarding the risks of keeping as pets elevate potential for zoonotic disease transmission. Habitat loss caused by deforestation conversion forests agricultural or anthropogenic-used land exacerbates risk human-orangutan encounters in Kalimantan. Consequently, understanding interactions’ trends spatial distribution is essential devising strategic interventions mitigate conflict. Using web scraping methods, we collected article data from various Indonesian news sources 2011 2024. 172 human interactions were documented categorized into six types: sightings, attacks, crop damage/raiding, hunting, capture, rearing. These occurred across 125 villages 28 districts/cities Most incidents reported settlement areas (35%) plantations (45%). Orangutans have also been sighted places, such airports harbors, over past 5 years. Given broad interactions, coordinated efforts multiple stakeholders are crucial mitigating managing conflicts part broader Bornean conservation initiatives.

Abstract The pressure of increasing land demand has led to significant changes in use across various regions, including Cibitung District. This study aims analyze and evaluate these over a decade, from 2013 2023. research employs spatial analysis techniques by overlaying data 2023 using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) satellite imagery. primary categories identified include settlements, agricultural land, open industrial areas, vegetation, water bodies. Findings reveal considerable shift bushland, accounting for 30% the total change. In addition this, highlights moderate expansion settlement areas driven urbanization pressures, as well slight increases use. However, overall types remained relatively stable despite transformations within each type. Factors such accessibility, proximity main roads, economic growth significantly influence changes, population favors close social activities. implications shifts reduction which may impact local food production, increased flood risk due loss vegetation. concludes with recommendations balanced management support sustainable urban development environmental conservation.
