Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a widespread tool in various academic fields, offering capabilities that range from machine translation to automated content generation. This collective systematic literature review is part of an Erasmus+ project, “TaLAI: Teaching and Learning with AI in Higher Education”. The investigates the current state Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) higher education, aiming to inform curriculum design further developments within digital education. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in dissertation examination presents a transformative opportunity for higher education institutions Zambia, Rwanda, and Kenya. As student enrollments continue to rise, universities face challenges efficiently evaluating dissertations while maintaining academic integrity. AI-driven tools offer innovative solutions by automating tasks such as plagiarism detection, language quality assessment, contract cheating identification. This study aims explore the opportunities, challenges, impact AI adoption assessment across selected universities. A mixed-methods research design was employed, incorporating surveys, semi-structured interviews, data analysis from AI-assisted evaluations at Copperbelt University (Zambia), Jomo Kenyatta Agriculture Technology (Kenya). Findings indicate that enhances efficiency reducing faculty workload improving feedback students. However, digital literacy gaps, infrastructure limitations, concerns over AI’s fairness ethical implications hinder full adoption. This chapter investigates teachers' attitude towards collaborative AI in academic writing instruction. Fifteen teachers were selected from three public sector universities the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Semi-structured interviews explored for teacher-AI collaboration, apprehensions, ethical considerations using GenAI tools and measures to address these concerns. Thematic analysis revealed five key themes: i) acceptance willingness use AI, ii) perceived value relevance writing, iii) iv) challenges regarding v) suggestions enhance collaboration. Findings a positive instruction readily accessible, precise, structured information. However, are concerned about unethical GenAI. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) writing tools in second language (L2) academic presents both opportunities and challenges for medical education. This study employed a SWOT (strengths–weaknesses–opportunities–threats) analysis to examine students’ perspectives on using AI their practice. Forty-two students from major Iranian university participated the study, providing weekly reflections final over 15-week course.
