Innovativeness and digitalization of enterprises various countries is fundamental to their development building a competitive knowledge-based economy. These issues are well understood in the European Union (EU), which promotes sustainable its economy, for innovativeness vital importance. The paper addresses this issue by presenting results study level EU. objectives research were assess EU-27 states determine relationship between these enterprises, as impact selected economic, energy, social environmental parameters on processes. importance interaction areas, causes methodology developed conducted consider both dimensions business activity simultaneously. To achieve goals, an original was developed. Its basis set 18 indicators characterizing state member states. A circular economy (CE) appears to be a crucial tool enabling the sustainable use of natural resources, which is also essential for achieving Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030. Compared traditional linear policy based on “take-make-use-dispose” principle, CE approach guided “designed remade” principle offers immense opportunities. Not only does it drastically reduce need primary but revolutionizes management both resources and waste. The significant metal processing companies due increased control over waste reduction. Furthermore, enables efficient utilization minimizes negative environmental impact, translating into development metallurgical activities. Additionally, recycling processes in can have financial benefits reducing raw material procurement costs lowering disposal fees. business model innovation improvement involves optimizing resource usage through continuous reuse. Companies develop advanced technologies, implement strategies, adopt service-oriented models like leasing or part exchanging. Research background: To achieve the targets for carbon peak and air quality improvement, local governments should propose environmental develop realization paths that are tailored to their unique conditions. They then promote low-carbon development through implementation of multiple measures. Purpose article: As government performance appraisal system im-proves, question arises as whether take initiative com-bine policies with target constraints reduce emissions. Methods: The announcement by in work reports is considered a quasi-natural experiment. This study examines effect (GETC) on emissions (CEs) using differences-in-differences (DID), propensity score matching-DID (PSM-DID), spatial-DID (SDID) data from 241 Chinese cities 2003 2019. Findings & value added: results demonstrate GETC can effectively CEs, inhibitory being most effective first two years after setting targets, but diminishing third year. CEs three paths: reducing energy consumption, promoting industrial structure optimization, encouraging green technology innovation. Spatial spillover effects show reduces while exacerbating neighboring cities, indicating beggar-thy-neighbor conventional regulation policy. observed mainly geographic matrix economic-geographic matrix, not economic matrix. According heterogeneity analysis, eastern central significantly CEs. stronger where secretaries mayors have longer tenures higher levels education. paper's theoretical lies exploring reduction combination self-restraint policies, providing new solution reduction. This study aims to evaluate compare the sustainability of Central Eastern European (CEE) countries, a region great geopolitical significance that has not yet received sufficient attention. An aggregate index in framework United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) constructed. The entropy weight method, equal principal component analysis are used ensure reliability outcomes. progress toward SDGs across countries further examined. results show Balkan have lower level than other CEE but they higher score on index, reflecting their high potential sustainable development. Renewable energy sources, encompassing wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal options, are assuming an increasingly crucial role in the global landscape. They present a sustainable substitute for fossil fuels, effectively reducing greenhouse gas emissions significantly contributing to ongoing efforts against climate change. The widespread adoption of renewable technologies has undergone rapid expansion on scale, propelled by governmental policies, technological advancements, decreasing costs. Despite their numerous advantages, sources encounter challenges such as intermittent supply, storage solutions, integration into existing power grids. Nevertheless, with sustained investment innovation, have potential become predominant source future.
