A systematic review of ecosystem services in the Rabanal páramo (Colombia)

Colombian
páramos,
strategic
ecosystems
of
the
northern
Andes,
provide
a
broad
range
ecosystem
services
such
as
carbon
sequestration,
water
regulation,
and
soil
protection.
The
department
Boyacá
in
Colombia
contains
largest
area
páramo
ecosystems,
with
Rabanal
serving
primary
source
for
capital
city
Tunja.
Despite
scientific
studies
on
diversity
flora
fauna,
páramos
remain
among
least
studied
regarding
their
services.
No
study
has
yet
addressed
detailed
systematic
review
assessing
páramo.
We
systematically
reviewed
162
documents
published
between
1992
2022
to
assess
progress
knowledge,
identify
biases,
define
research
priorities.
Most
(60%)
focused
regulating
services,
followed
by
cultural
(24%)
provisioning
(16%).
In
category
biodiversity
maintenance
is
most
service
60
(37%),
vegetation
cover
22
(14%).
fresh
18
(11%),
while
environmental
education,
16
(10%),
publications.
Likewise,
we
identified
21
different
methods
documents.
employed
was
assessment
(23%),
stakeholder
engagement
planning
(10%)
inventory
(7%).
conclude
that
there
significant
gap
prioritizing
understanding
impacts
conservation
initiatives
communities.
This
unique
ecosystem,
which
not
only
livelihood
local
farmers
but
also
deeply
connected
identity
heritage,
underscores
need
address
these
gaps
sustain
ecosystem.

permacultura
se
ha
establecido
como
una
alternativa
a
las
prácticas
agrícolas
actuales,
priorizando
la
activación
de
relaciones
simbióticas
con
los
elementos
bióticos
y
abióticos
que
componen
al
ecosistema
para
conseguir
armonía
naturaleza,
aspectos
socio
culturales
participación
justa.

implementado
varios
países
diferentes
perspectivas,
así

agricultura
permanente
han
incluido
complementos
construcción
ecoaldeas
conjunto
estilos
vida

difusión
dietas
propias
lugares,
turismo

En
respecta
ecosistemas
fríos,
es
el
páramo,
también
proyectos
adaptan
condiciones
climáticas
incorporando
tecnología
o
variando
uso
acorde
estaciones.
Es
destacar,
experiencia
boliviana,
wallipinis,
son
invernaderos
subterráneos

temperaturas

°C
del
altiplano.
Por
que,
partir
presente
revisión,
concluye
posible
desarrollar
páramos
altoandinos.
