Abstract Several natural and anthropogenic activities, as well rapid urbanization industrialization, have caused freshwater bodies their water quality to deteriorate rapidly over the past two decades. This study utilizes ArcGIS map parameters in Baner Gaj rivulets, tributaries of river Beas Himachal Pradesh, with objective gaining insights into potential impact on main river. So, aim present research was assess actions ecology fitness rivulets basin perpetuate diversity. A total six sampling zones were selected; three order during period one year, from January 2022 December 2022. During study, Water Quality Index (WQI) used status both rivulets. Fourteen physicochemical examined using appropriate techniques then compared international standards. slight upsurge observed some parameters, such pH, hardness, TDS, nitrate, phosphate, at zone 3 (S3) rivulet. The results WQI ranged 45.5 S1 50.2 S3 48.5 55.2 Baner, which reflected a activities. confirmed abundance aquatic species. Human riverbed mining, also negatively impacted sample zones. There is, however, need monitor evaluate these types However, further monitoring are necessary validate study's findings extend its scope other regions.

The vegetation of the ecological substrate plays a crucial role in restoring shoreline ecology. This study focused on using zeolite and biochar as modifiers, specifically utilizing Cynodon dactylon from Central China for vegetation. A pot experiment was carried out to compare effects different ratios biochar. indices, including germination index, plant height, coverage rate, were analyzed discussed. results revealed that primarily influenced index dactylon, while had more significant impact percentage, energy, rate. discovered seed effect improved initially increased with content then decreased. average percentage 63.96%. Conversely, it decreased an increase content, resulting 55.45%. Zeolite caused decrease pH by −0.11 0.4 average, respectively. each showed negative correlation pH. Additionally, height content. However, inclusion 6% led height. Specifically, 3.92 cm 7.48%. Our research identified optimal ratio 0% biochar, showcasing good overall vegetative properties. These findings offer insights further understanding zeolite–biochar-modified substrates optimizing schemes projects.
