The integration of digital media and artificial intelligence (AI) is fundamentally reshaping higher education, leading to a profound pedagogical transformation. This study explores the impact these technologies, encompassing online learning platforms, social media, adaptive systems, AI chatbots, on teaching practices. A comprehensive review literature, global surveys, case studies reveals both significant opportunities inherent challenges.Digital tools enhance through increased flexibility, broader accessibility, greater personalization. For example, platforms AI-powered chatbots can provide individualized feedback, assist with coursework, help identify at-risk students. COVID-19 pandemic accelerated trends, compelling institutions globally rapidly adopt remote learning. recent survey indicates that 86% students already use for tasks like information search summarization, yet less than half feel prepared an AI-enabled curriculum.Key challenges include unequal access technology, data privacy concerns, potential algorithmic bias, threats academic integrity. transition from traditional methods necessitates addressing infrastructure training gaps. This study examines Thai university students' perceptions of Interactive Response Systems (IRSs) in fully online English instruction, addressing the limited research on their use virtual classrooms. A mixed-method approach, involving surveys and interviews with 289 participants, revealed generally positive IRSs as tools that enhance engagement, motivation, goal achievement. Female students reported higher satisfaction comprehension, while frequent users experienced stronger engagement learning outcomes. Students a preference for expressed more favorable views IRSs, particularly aiding comprehension achieving goals. However, challenges such technical issues, pacing, consistent implementation were highlighted, by less users. By focusing environments, this contributes to under-explored area IRS applications instruction.
