Purpose This research aims to explore the intricate relationship between screen time addiction, employee mental health and work-life balance within global careers. The study examines how digital engagement in professional environments affects well-being organizational practices, considering cultural, economic generational differences. Design/methodology/approach A theoretical synthesis methodology is employed, reviewing analyzing scholarly literature on integrates perspectives from psychology, behavior technology studies construct a conceptual framework addressing addiction as structural rather than solely behavioral issue. Findings highlights multifaceted nature of driven by psychological factors such fear missing out (FOMO), social isolation dopamine-driven gratification, alongside workplace expectations technological design elements fostering compulsive engagement. Excessive significantly disrupts balance, leading issues, including stress, anxiety burnout, particularly careers where connectivity blurs personal boundaries. Cultural influence manifests, with communal societies offering more support individualistic cultures experiencing heightened stress. Economic disparities also shape effects time, wealthier nations reporting higher rates lower-income regions facing different challenges. Research limitations/implications Organizations should develop policies prioritizing wellness, implementing clear boundaries reducing for constant availability.
