Hepatocellular
carcinoma
(HCC)
is
defined
as
the
sixth
most
common
cancer
type
and
third
in
terms
of
cancer-related
deaths.
Tarantula
cubensis

present
study
aimed
to

Abstract
A
co-relation
between
Schistosoma
japonicum
(Sj)
and
liver
cancer
(LC)
in
humans
has
been
reported
the
literature;
however,
this
association
is
circumstantial.
Due
to
inconclusive
nature
of
association,
International
Agency
for
Research
on
Cancer
placed
Sj
Group
2B
LC,
signifying
it
be
a
‘possible
carcinogen’.
Many
epidemiological,
pathological
clinical
studies
have
identified
multiple
factors,
linked
with
infection,
which
can
lead
carcinogenesis.
These
factors
include
chronic
inflammation
response
deposited
eggs
(which
leads
fibrosis,
cirrhosis
chromosomal
instability
at
cellular
level),
hepatotoxic
effects
egg-antigens,
co-infection
hepatitis
viruses,
up-regulation
glycolysis
genes
among
others
predisposes
hepatic
tissue
towards
malignant
transformation.
The
objective

present
current
understanding

Abstract
Introduction

disease
(MASLD),

disease,
strongly
linked
to
metabolic
conditions
that
can

cirrhosis

Iron
overload
(IO),
whether
inherited
or
acquired,
results
abnormal
iron
hepatic
deposition,
significantly
impacting
MASLD
development
progression
While
pathophysiological
connections
between
IO,
MASLD,
HCC
are
not
fully
understood,
