Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is defined as the sixth most common cancer type and third in terms of cancer-related deaths. Tarantula cubensis alcohol extract (TCAE, Theranekron) a homeopathic medicine frequently used veterinary treatment papilloma, mammary adenocarcinoma necrotic disorders. The present study aimed to reveal effectiveness TCAE Sorafenib (S) HCC induced by Diethylnitrosamine (DEN) N-nitrosomorpholine (NMOR)-induced rats. Rats were randomly divided into 7 groups: Control (C), + (CT), S (CS), Cancer (CC), CC+TCAE (CCT), CC+S (CCS), CC+TCAE+S (CCTS). In CC group, values for glucose, triglyceride (TG) total antioxidant capacity (TAC) found be significantly higher than all other groups (p<0.001), while p21 levels lower (p<0.05). It determined an increase serum (p<0.05) significant decrease glucose TG (p<0.001) CCT, CCS CCTS compared group. Histopathological examination revealed that group showed morphology, caused tumor incidence size. As result, it can said alone and/or combined with chemotherapy drugs antiproliferative effects on cells HCC. combination therapy may potentially synergize improve magnitude durability antitumor responses patients

Abstract A co-relation between Schistosoma japonicum (Sj) and liver cancer (LC) in humans has been reported the literature; however, this association is circumstantial. Due to inconclusive nature of association, International Agency for Research on Cancer placed Sj Group 2B LC, signifying it be a ‘possible carcinogen’. Many epidemiological, pathological clinical studies have identified multiple factors, linked with infection, which can lead carcinogenesis. These factors include chronic inflammation response deposited eggs (which leads fibrosis, cirrhosis chromosomal instability at cellular level), hepatotoxic effects egg-antigens, co-infection hepatitis viruses, up-regulation glycolysis genes among others predisposes hepatic tissue towards malignant transformation. The objective work present current understanding infection LC. Mechanisms that LC are emphasized, along measures diagnose treat it. comparison carcinogenesis also provided cases independent infection. It appears Sj, alone or another carcinogen, an important factor carcinogenesis, but further warranted conclusively label ‘infection alone’ as carcinogen.

Abstract Introduction The impact of the distance tumor from main hepatic vessels (DTV), such as Glissonean pedicle or veins, on oncological outcomes for Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients is relatively understudied. Therefore, objective this study was to explore correlation between DTV and survival in with HCC after curative resection. Methods Consecutive who underwent curative-intent liver surgery April 2018 May 2023 were identified a prospective database. Univariate multivariate Cox regression analysis performed identify independent predictors recurrence-free (RFS). A ROC-curve used find optimal cut-off value DTV. According estimated value, divided into 2 subgroups, then using Kaplan-Meier curve, RFS overall (OS) compared subgroups. Results In univariate analysis, DTV, size, resection margins, microvascular invasion (MVI) grading associated RFS. MVI confirmed ROC-analysis cutoff 20 mm. Patients < mm had larger size more advanced histopathological grading. There no difference presence both groups, while significantly experienced recurrence hepatectomy group. Accordingly, shorter median OS. Conclusion promising predictor OS HCC.

Liver cancer, a highly aggressive malignancy, continues to present significant challenges in therapeutic management due its pronounced chemoresistance. This resistance, which undermines the efficacy of conventional chemotherapy and targeted therapies, is driven by multifaceted mechanisms, with increasing emphasis placed on protective role tumor microenvironment (TME). The hepatocellular carcinoma extracellular matrix (ECM), primary non-cellular component TME, has emerged as critical regulator cancer progression drug particularly cell (HCC). In this study, hybrid biomimetic hydrogel was engineered integrating decellularized (DHCM) gelatin methacrylate (GelMA) precursors. composite DHCM/GelMA designed replicate physicochemical functional properties ECM, thereby offering platform explore interactions between HCCs their microenvironment. Leveraging custom-designed microfluidic 3D printing platform, we achieved high-throughput fabrication HCC-encapsulated microgels, characterized enhanced uniformity, biocompatibility, scalability. These microgels facilitated construction microtissues, were subsequently employed for chemoresistance studies. Our findings revealed that closely mimic microenvironment, effectively recapitulating key features ECM-mediated resistance. Mechanistic studies further demonstrated DHCM significantly upregulates expression Aquaporin 3 (AQP3) encapsulated HCCs. upregulation potentially activates mTOR signaling-associated autophagy pathways, enhancing models provide robust versatile studying underlying mechanisms resistance evaluating interventions. innovative approach highlights potential transformative tool cancer-associated tissue engineering anticancer screening. By enabling detailed investigations into ECM chemoresistance, study contributes advancing research offers promising strategies overcome ultimately improving clinical outcomes liver treatment.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common form of primary liver cancer, is rising in global incidence and mortality. Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic disease (MASLD), one leading causes chronic disease, strongly linked to metabolic conditions that can progress cirrhosis HCC. Iron overload (IO), whether inherited or acquired, results abnormal iron hepatic deposition, significantly impacting MASLD development progression While pathophysiological connections between IO, MASLD, HCC are not fully understood, dysregulation glucose lipid metabolism IO-induced oxidative stress being investigated as drivers. Genomic analyses IO reveal inconsistencies association certain mutations with malignancies. Moreover, also associated hepcidin activation ferroptosis, representing promising targets for risk assessment therapeutic intervention. Understanding relationship essential advancing clinical strategies against progression, particularly recent IO-targeted therapies showing potential at improving biochemistry insulin sensitivity. In this review, we summarize current evidence on HCC, underscoring importance early diagnosis, stratification, targeted treatment these interconnected conditions.

Hepatic steatosis is the second most prevalent liver disease following viral hepatitis, and its incidence increasing rapidly, posing a significant threat to human health. This research aimed identify natural treatment methods that reduce risk of experimental hepatic with triton by answering questions:Do polyphenols extracted from strawberries in rabbits?Do omega-3 almonds rabbits? Is giving Omega-3, Vit. E considered optimal for steatosis? study assess effects strawberry polyphenols, almonds, omega-3, vitamin on reducing Triton-induced steatosis. The experiment involved 100 male rabbits (10-12 months old, 1,150-1,350 g) divided randomly into 10 groups: control group, Triton (300 mg/kg body mass) almond Omega-3 group. Dosing occurred daily 4 months. results indicated increase levels Triglycerides, Total cholesterol, Low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, Very low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol group treated compared other groups, while these parameters decreased groups E. In addition, High-density Paroxinase-1 activity, apelin concentration but increased receiving E, at probability level (p ≤ 0.01). These suggest strawberries, suitable

Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most invasive liver cancer, with high incidence rates and resistance to chemotherapy. Polyphenols from red rice bran extract (RRBE) exert diverse anti-cancer effects on certain cancers. This study, for first time, examined suppressive of RRBE proliferation, migration, invasion in HepG2 cells a preliminary investigation into how its inhibitory are linked reversing EMT process via Wnt/β-catenin pathway.
