The Orchidaceae family comprises a highly diverse group of flowering plants. genus Cattleya is restricted to the Neotropics, with approximately 80 % species present in Brazil occurring epiphytic, rupicolous, and terrestrial habitats. During surveys that aimed investigate root fungal endophytes two native orchids, C. locatellii violacea, total 10 endophytic isolates were identified as belonging Eurotiales. A polyphasic approach was applied for identification characterization cultured species, combining morphological molecular data. Phylogenetic analyses performed using internal transcribed spacers (ITS) rDNA, beta-tubulin (BenA), calmodulin (CaM), RNA polymerase second-largest subunit (RPB2) sequences. Two new described from roots locatellii, namely Penicillium endophyticum sp. nov. (section Aspergilloides), Talaromyces cattleyae Purpurei). The genus Cytosporella includes non-lichenized, plant associated fungi producing eustromatic conidiomata, phialidic conidiophores and hyaline, ellipsoid conidia. Of the 69 names assigned to this in Index Fungorum, only three species are with sequence data. In study, a new species: Cytosporellafuligomixta is described based on strain isolated from sooty mould community Quercusrobur leaves Poland. phylogenetic analyses including sequences of two loci (LSU, mtSSU) showed that species, together members four other or fungicolous genera, namely Cladosterigma, Neoacrodontiella, Nothoramularia Vanderaaea, form sister group lichenized lichenicolous family Gomphillaceae order Graphidales. Previously, Cladosterigma was resolved as member using multi-locus (mtSSU, SSU, LSU, ITS, rpb2, tef1) two-locus analyses, while Cytosporella, were shown belong LSU analyses. However, none them these genera Gomphillaceae. placement Vanderaaea within here for first time. Due phylogenetic, morphological ecological characteristics subfamily Cladosterigmoideae five non-lichenized genera.

Ectomycorrhizal fungi of the genus Tuber (Ascomycota) produce hypogeous ascomata commonly known as truffles. Despite their high ecological and economic importance, a considerable gap knowledge exists concerning diversity species in eastern Mediterranean region. In frame this study, more than 200 collections, originating from various regions Greece, were examined. A new to science, i.e., leptodermum, is formally described. leptodermum grouped Maculatum clade, revealed by ITS LSU rDNA concatenated phylogenetic tree, appears sister T. foetidum. addition, exhibits distinct morphoanatomic features: it produces medium-sized, dark-brown with thin pseudoparenchymatous peridium, composed globose-to-angular cells forms one-to-four-spored asci containing reticulate–alveolate, ellipsoid ascospores broad meshes. Thirty other are identified: seven them (i.e., anniae, buendiae, conchae, dryophilum, monosporum, regianum zambonelliae) constitute records for Greek mycobiota, while presence five molecularly confirmed first time. Moreover, existence ten undescribed revealed, six which reported time Greece. Several taxonomic issues discrepancies discussed relation findings.

This study aimed to investigate the morphological characteristics and phylogenetic relationships of three new species Tropicoporus from southern parts India. The analyses ITS nLSU regions revealed novelty these species, which have been named T. pannaensis, subindicus, xerophyticus. All possess pileate basidiomes, a monomitic hyphal system in context, presence cystidioles setae. However, they differ significantly their placements other morpho-taxonomic features. pannaensis is characterized by meagrely ungulate basidiome, indistinct zones, an obtuse margin. subindicus has triquetrous basidiome radially cracked, crusted pileal surface with acute margin, while xerophyticus distinguished imbricate, perennial abundantly warted surface.
