Childhood maltreatment has been linked to adult somatic symptoms, although this rarely examined in daily life. Furthermore, the localization of somatization associated with childhood and its subtypes is unknown. This large-scale experience sampling study used body maps examine relationships between maltreatment, subtypes, intensity location negative sensations Participants (N = 2,234; 33% female 67% male) were part MyBPLab 2.0, a conducted using bespoke mobile phone application. Four categories (emotional abuse, emotional neglect, physical neglect) measured Trauma Questionnaire. Using gender-matched human silhouettes, participants indicated feelings activation body. generally four all positively heightened on both front back maps. For females, total was abdomen lower back, while for males, association localized back. Similarly, each subscales had associations females except which also males. These likely reflect increased individuals exposed suggesting role psychotherapeutic interventions alleviating distress.
