How (not) to talk about plant-based foods: Using language to support the transition to sustainable diets

Reducing
meat
consumption
is
essential
to
curb
further
climate
change
and
limit
the
catastrophic
environmental
degradation
resulting
from
current
global
food
system.
However,
consumers
in
industrialised
countries
are
hesitant
reduce
their
intake,
often
because
they
find
plant-based
foods
less
appealing.
Despite
emergency,
eating
still
perceived
as
norm,
recommended
most
national
dietary
guidelines.
To
support
transition
more
sustainable
diets
by
providing
insights
for
increasing
appeal
of
mainstream
consumers,
this
article
reviews
recent
research
findings
on
how
people
think
communicate
about
meat-based
foods.
The
key

review
include:

abstract

Research

Addressing
climate
change
requires
significant
individual
behaviour
change,
