This
paper
examines
posttraumatic
stress
disorder
(PTSD)
among
veterans
through
the
lens
of
hegemonic
military
masculinity
(e.g.,
emotional
toughness,
strength,
courage)
as
overarching
social
ecology
life
in
which
mental
distress
is
experienced
by
service
members.
Three
themes
emerged
from
a
focus
group
with
medically
released
Canadian
veteran
men:

PTSD
decided
injury

soldiers
reporting
more

an
individual
or
medical
problem,

SUMMARY
This
study
explores
mental
health
risks
among
Australian
military
Veterans,
emphasizing
the
critical
role
of
care
practitioners,
particularly
general
practitioners
(GPs),
in
promptly
identifying
and
effectively
managing
concerns
this
population.
Through
an
analysis
data
from
150
injured
research
revealed
that
individuals
with
shorter
service
length,
those
lower
rank,
males
who
underwent
voluntary
discharge,
females
experienced
involuntary
medical
discharge
are
at
heightened
risk
developing
a
service-related
condition.

The
purpose

this
study
was
to
explore
the
perceptions
toward
gender
and
sexual
identities
in
Portuguese
armed
police
forces,

Gaining
employment

challenges

A
growing
body
of
research
describes
the
financial
well-being
U.S.
military
Veterans,
but
with
relatively
little
attention
to
traditionally
disadvantaged
groups
within
Veteran
population.
Using
three
waves
National
Financial
Capability
Study,
we
provide
multivariate
evidence
on
female,
minority
and
female
Veterans.
We
find
that
Veterans
tend
fare
worse
than
their
male
counterparts
in
broad
measures
well-being,
spending
credit
behaviors,
savings
investment
labor
market
outcomes.
Minority
(with
exception
Asian
Pacific
Islanders)
White
across
most
measures.
In
several
notable
cases,
better
counterparts,
including
Black
being
more
likely
have
high
levels
satisfaction
literacy
Hispanic
emergency
retirement
plans.
Our
results
important
descriptive
relative
specific
subgroups
highlight
importance
understanding
unique
experiences
order
improve
future
policy.
