Introduction The incidence of metabolic diseases tends to be highest during the transition period (±3 weeks around parturition) in dairy cows due physiological changes and onset lactation. Although blood profile testing allows for monitoring nutritional status, conducting extensive analyses herd is costly stressful invasive procedures. Therefore, mid-infrared spectroscopy (MIR) could seen as a valid alternative. Methods In present study, we used laboratory-determined reference data milk spectra 349 Holstein (i) identify non-genetic factors affecting variability major traits healthy and, subsequently, (ii) test predictive ability MIR. Cows belonged 14 Italian commercial farms were sampled once between 5 38 days milk. For β -hydroxybutyrate (BHB), non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA), cholesterol, glucose, urea, total protein, albumin, globulin, minerals, aspartate aminotransferase, gamma-glutamyl transferase, creatine kinase, bilirubin, cortisol, effects parity, milk, season investigated using linear model. Results discussion results indicate that all fixed significantly affected hematic concentration most traits. Regarding MIR, predictable BHB, NEFA, with coefficients determination equal 0.57, 0.62, 0.89, respectively. These values suggest MIR predictions BHB NEFA are not sufficiently accurate precise punctual concentration, however, still spectrum can exploited at risk negative energy balance subclinical ketosis. Finally, useful screening, decision-making, genetic evaluation.

Milk minerals are not only essential components for human health, but they can be informative milk quality and cow's health. Herein, we investigated the feasibility of Fourier Transformed mid Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy prediction a detailed panel 17 macro, trace, environmental elements in bovine milk, using partial least squares regression (PLS) machine learning approaches. The automatic significantly outperformed PLS terms performances mineral elements. For macrominerals, R

Mineral content is an important nutrient component in milk. At present, there not much research and application on the ecological mineral profiles of milk, especially development utilization dominant milk source Xinjiang. This study uses a mid-infrared spectroscopy (MIRS) model to predict seven key minerals explores secretion patterns characteristics provides production methods for efficient high-calcium sources, analyzes possible economic benefits. The results indicate that Xinjiang has advantages over other regions China. profiles’ are influenced by parity, days lactation, sampling season, calving breast health status. Moreover, correlations between different minerals. Milk with higher calcium also elevated levels regular components (milk protein fat). Therefore, such may serve as reference producing season-dependent sources. If native above 1300 mg/kg, identified this study, was used produce pasteurized fresh premium dairy industry could see significant increase foundation characteristic sources diversified products It lays groundwork understanding mechanisms

Mid-infrared spectroscopy (MIRS) is increasingly used as a rapid and effective analytical method for the quantitative prediction of detailed milk composition, such minerals, fatty acids, amino acids (AA). These analyses require transportation samples to certified laboratory. In this case, storage time may affect MIRS its results. This study aimed determine effect on predictions AA content. 373 individual development content equations were collected from 7 commercial dairy farms (data set 1). 103 analysis 2 2). First, separate models based data 1 developed each using partial least squares regression; accuracy was assessed cross-validation set. Second, repeatability reproducibility calculated in 2, whose spectra measured once day consecutive days after sampling storing at 4°C, assess consistency predicted Moderate high achieved, with RPDCV RCV2 being range 1.59 (Gly) 2.39 (Leu) 0.58 0.79 (Leu), respectively. Results demonstrated that absorbance spectral points affected by time, especially absorption areas associated fat, protein, lactose, somatic cell count, urea, acetone. However, all repeatable reproducible across different until 6 d except Tyr, His, Phe, both greater than or close 90%. conclusion, it 0-6 collection, stored 4°C preserved-bronopol, can provide relatively consistent accurate shorter within 3 post-collection, recommended when conditions permit.

A smooth transition phase is the key for optimal dairy cows' performance and reduced antibiotics use. Therefore, objective of our Our study was to compare effect an antibiotic growth promoter a nutraceutical bolus, onhealth, colostrum, milk production, profitability in cows. Seventy-five animals blocked by parity, previous yield, lactation length, body condition score (BCS) were assigned randomised design 1 3 groups: control (CON; N = 26) receiving no treatment; monensin (MON; 27) receiving, slow-releasing intraruminal bolus sodic at −20 d relative expected calving; (ECS; 22) −5 before calving Echinacea purpurea dry extract, vitamin E, l-carnitine Silybum marianum released within 24h. Colostrum yield density recorded; its composition immunoglobulins content analysed. Every 20 days BCS individual recorded daily until 70DIM monthly thereafter 305 DIM. Milk quality tested monthly. An economic evaluation performed. Δ analysed analysis covariance. Economics with ANOVA, ANOVA repeated measures. The MON ECS had lower colostrum protein His, Arg, Ala, Met, Val Ile content, higher 35 (ECS) 70 (MON) DIM compared CON. trend partial income observed CON group, suggesting positive impact treatments.

Portable infrared-based instruments have made important contributions in different research fields. Within the dairy supply chain, for example, most of portable devices are based on near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and nowadays an support farmers operators sector, allowing fast real-time decision-making, particularly feed milk quality evaluation animal health welfare monitoring. The affordability, portability, ease use these been pivotal factors their implementation farm. In fact, pocket-sized enable nonexpert users to perform quick, low-cost, nondestructive analysis various matrixes without complex preparation. Because bovine colostrum (BC) is mostly given by IgG level, evaluating ability NIRS tools measure antibody concentration advisable. this study we used wireless device SCiO manufactured Consumer Physics Inc.
