Microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics have gained significant attention as emerging environmental pollutants due to their widespread presence potential health risks. In recent years, these contaminants been frequently detected in drinking water various beverages, prompting concern about sources effects. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the occurrence MPs beverages exposure assessments. The continuous release of municipal and industrial products into the environment poses a growing concern for public health. Among environmental pollutants, polystyrene (PS) stands out as primary constituent plastic waste, given its widespread use high production rates owing to durability user-friendly properties. detection microparticles (PS-MPs) in various living organisms has been well-documented, posing serious threat due their potential passage human ecosystem. In this manuscript, we aimed study toxicological effects low concentrations pristine photoaged PS-MPs murine macrophage cell line. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) microplastics constitute a significant portion of plastic pollution in the environment and pose substantial environmental challenges. In this study, effectiveness Fenton process post-oxidation coagulation for removal non-weathered UV-weathered PET (PET MPs) were investigated. A response surface methodology was used to investigate interplay between concentration ferrous ion (Fe2+) concentration. The models revealed an intricate these variables, highlighting need balanced system optimal MP removal. For PET, simultaneous increase concentrations both Fe2+ found enhance efficiency. However, synergistic effect not observed which also demonstrated more pronounced from statistical analysis provided strong basis validity models. X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) further elucidated mechanisms behind findings, revealing that UV weathering results changes, facilitate hydroxyl radical oxidation.
