The prolonged use of synthetic pesticides can lead to adverse effects on both the environment and human health, manifesting in conditions such as organ dysfunction, hormonal disturbances, even cancer. Thus, there is an imperative need explore natural-based (biopesticides) that possess antimicrobial capabilities, are environmentally friendly, beneficial for health. Several plants, including Muntingia calabura , Mangifera indica Psidium guajava Tithonia diversifolia offer potential sources biopesticides. This research aims assess efficacy extracts from these leaves with water-based solvent, evaluating their plant samples were extracted using maceration method water solvent. Each extract was tested its activity against Escherichia coli (K-12) Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Antimicrobial quantitatively measured by calculating minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) CLSI guidelines (M07-A13). results demonstrated T. leaf extract, a 3-hour simplicia immersion duration, exhibited most potent test bacterial strain E. given lowest MIC value (7.03 ± 0.79 µg/ml). Hence, holds significant promise development into biopesticide, owing superior capabilities.

Azolla microphylla, a rapidly growing aquatic fern with the unique ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen, presents significant potential for sustainable agriculture. Despite its nitrogen-fixing prowess, challenges persist in optimizing biomass production, prompting detailed exploration of influential factors this study. This paper addresses persistent challenge nitrogen-rich production Azolla cultivation. Employing split-plot experimental design, study investigates shading percentage (N) and water depth (G) growth, systematically ranging from 0% (full sunlight/N1) 75% (N3) percentages 2.5 cm (G1), 5.0 (G2), 7.5 (G3) depths. In addition assessing growth outcomes, explores nitrogen content under three different conditions: fresh, dried, composted Azolla. Findings unveil influence on N1G2 treatment identified as optimal condition achieving maximum production. Set against backdrop tropical agriculture, specifically within high temperatures Indonesia, our underscores resilience elevated temperatures, highlighting agent. Notably, fresh closely matches urea content, suggesting an organic fertilizer substitute urea. research sheds light critical surrounding Azolla, emphasizing necessity temperature optimization. The insights provided hold significance agriculture practices seeking harness free-air fixator.

The instability in crop production caused by pest infestations, particularly the fall armyworm ( Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith), poses significant challenges agriculture. Conventional chemical pesticides, while effective, contribute to environmental degradation, pesticide residues food products, and increased resistance among populations. As an alternative, this study explores use of wood vinegar derived from torrefied coconut shells as a botanical for managing S. infestations. An experimental design using completely randomized layout was implemented, comprising five treatment concentrations (0%, 3%, 5%, 8%, 10%) water, each replicated four times. A total 200 third instar larvae were subjected these treatments, with unit containing 10 individual plastic cups. Key parameters observed included initial mortality time, lethal time 50, overall rate, concentration 50 95. results demonstrated impact on larval mortality. 10% yielded highest efficacy, achieving 80% rate. Further analysis Duncan’s multiple range test at 5% significance level confirmed optimal. findings indicate that is potent, ecofriendly alternative pesticides.
