Abstract Background Cognitive decline stands as a significant factor contributing to disability and dependency among older adults. Multi-domain lifestyle (MDL) interventions are widely recognized for their effectiveness in preserving cognitive functioning adults with dementia. However, little is known about MDL using technology-based approaches residing assisted living facilities. This qualitative study aims explore the benefits of mobile-based multidomain application, Silvia Program, enhancing residents Methods We conducted semi-structured, in-depth interviews capture health-related perspectives Program after 12-week period. Ten participants (70% female; age range 66–93), all at risk dementia (with MoCA scores between 18 25), were recruited from two local community facilities Midwestern area. Five steps high-quality analysis interview transcript was conducted. Results identified three salient themes resulting participation: (a) benefits, (b) psychological wellbeing, (c) Health-related behavior management, (d) Technology anxiety, (e) Content issues. Discussion The present provides suggestive evidence an overall positive effect use on ALFs. Practical implications further discussion addressed this paper.

Mental health disorders and cognitive decline are pressing global concerns, increasing the demand for non-pharmacological interventions targeting emotional dysregulation, memory deficits, neural dysfunction. This review systematically examines three promising methodologies-music therapy, brainwave entrainment (binaural beats, isochronic tones, multisensory stimulation), their integration into a unified therapeutic paradigm. Emerging evidence indicates that music therapy modulates affect, reduces stress, enhances cognition by engaging limbic, prefrontal, reward circuits. Brainwave entrainment, particularly within gamma frequency range (30-100 Hz), facilitates oscillatory patterns linked to relaxation, concentration, memory, with 40 Hz showing promise enhancement, albeit individual variability. Synchronized stimulation, combining auditory visual inputs at frequencies, has demonstrated potential in enhancing supporting integrity, Alzheimer's disease. However, challenges such as patient response variability, lack of standardization, scalability hinder widespread implementation. Recent research suggests synergistic application these modalities may optimize outcomes leveraging complementary mechanisms. To actualize this, AI-driven biofeedback, enabling real-time physiological assessment individualized adjustments-such tailoring musical complexity, components-emerges solution. adaptive model treatment accessibility consistency while maximizing long-term efficacy. Although early stages, preliminary highlights its transformative reshaping strategies. Advancing this field requires interdisciplinary research, rigorous evaluation, ethical data stewardship develop innovative, patient-centered solutions mental rehabilitation.

Dementia and cognitive decline pose significant global public health challenges, with prevalence expected to rise in the coming decades. Lifestyle medicine offers a promising approach mitigating issues through six key interventions: diet, physical activity, restorative sleep, social connections, stress management, avoiding risky substances. Traditional methods like randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have limitations capturing long-term impacts of these interventions. To overcome American College Medicine (ACLM) True Health Initiative (THI) developed Hierarchies Evidence Applied (HEALM) framework, informed by Threshold Pathway Mapping (ETPM) approach. This framework integrates diverse evidence sources assess intervention effects over time. Applying HEALM, this review evaluates lifestyle factors' impact on dementia decline. It finds strong supporting plant-based nutrition, substances promoting health. Social connections may mitigate decline, while management requires further investigation due inconclusive findings. Integrating findings into strategies could effectively address growing burden enhance overall well-being aging populations, underscoring need for continued research
