Introduction. Structural changes detected in indices of population health and risks created by priority environmental factors resulted natural necessity to create integral valuations that can be predicted under various circumstances. The purpose the study was descriptionof used its complex evaluations. Materials methods. This paper is a narrative review available research literature. Relevant literature sources were sought reference databases (SCOPUS, WoS), PubMed search system without any limitations as regards time publication. Two groups analyzed: one-dimensional ones those based on mortality tables. Results. Advantages drawbacks typical for each measure types established possibility perform intergroup or inter-population evaluations; taking into account complexity interrelations between factors; use contemporary concepts expressed social orientations. Despite many methodological developments sphere, are still being developed, among other things, due interdisciplinary approaches, systems theory, up-to-date opportunities provided computational systems. Limitations include lack strictly determined strategy. results considered qualitative (descriptive) with some elements comparison do not provide quantitative estimations. Conclusions. obtained analysis accomplished allowed establishing most relevant measures LEB assessment techniques estimating whether their structural components well-grounded. Diagnosing the current health status and disease burden in a population is crucial for public interventions. The ability to compare of different diseases through single measure, such as disability-adjusted life years has become feasible continues be produced updated Global Burden Diseases (GBD) study. However, values GBD study do not accurately reflect unique situation specific country with various circumstances. In response, Korean National Disease (KNBD) was conducted estimate Koreans by considering Korea’s cultural context utilizing available data sources at national level. Both studies identified non-communicable diseases, diabetes mellitus (DM), primary cause among Koreans. extent interventions currently being central local governments does align severity burden. This review suggests that despite high DM South Korea, policies may fully address its impact, underscoring need expanded chronic management programs shift towards prevention-focused healthcare paradigms.
