The initial Swedish discourse of transnational adoption as a win-win situation has changed over its more than 60-year-long history. This article aims to trace and present some themes in this history, with particular focus on the public debate different narratives that representatives triangle—the adoptees, adoptive parents, biological parents—tell when dealing transracial personal political phenomenon. draws from an ongoing study discourses based, above all, journalism, memoirs, governmental documents, previous research. Den här kvalitativa artikeln baseras på intervjuer med svenska adoptivfamiljer och undersöker hur barn föräldrar resonerar kring motiven till att göra en adoptionsåterresa. Genom kombination av teorier om samtida föräldraskap barns röst undersöks föräldrars perspektiv både åtskilt tillsammans. Artikeln visar det i första hand är föräldrar, ibland samråd barnen, som initierar adoptionsåterresorna. Vidare analyserna adoptionsåterresor förenade möjligheter risker för barn. English abstract Adoptive families’ motives for conducting adoption return trips – parents’ and children’s perspectives Based on interviews with Swedish adoptive families, this qualitative article explores children a family trip (to the country of origin adopted child).
