The Influence of Smart Green Spaces on Environmental Awareness, Social Cohesion, and Life Satisfaction in High-Rise Residential Communities

Urbanization has driven the growth of high-rise residential areas, creating unique challenges for enhancing residents’ well-being, especially in large metropolitan regions. This study investigated impact smart green spaces—green areas integrated with technology to optimize environmental benefits—on awareness, social cohesion, and life satisfaction these dense urban environments. Utilizing data collected from questionnaires field interviews seven representative Guangzhou, China, structural equation model (SEM) was employed explore complex effects spaces. The findings reveal positive correlations between presence, accessibility, technological features spaces, which contribute heightened strengthened bonds among residents, increased satisfaction. Behavioral Conflicts in Urban Greenway Recreation: A Case Study of the “Three Rivers and One Mountain” Greenway in Xi’an, China

The current greenway systems in China are relatively homogenous, whereas recreational groups and their needs highly diverse. This discrepancy has resulted increasingly severe behavioral conflicts during recreation. However, scholarly research on activities is lacking. Recreationists’ perceptions of conflict negatively impact evaluation the experience, thereby limiting ecological benefits greenways. Therefore, it crucial to categorize these conflicts, understand formation mechanisms, identify influencing factors, so as put forward targeted management strategies for construction. study selected urban segments greenways along Wei Feng rivers Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China. Field observation, semi-structured interviews, NVivo 12 three-level coding were used investigate analyze main types perceived by various factors perceptions. results indicate that primary danger perception, space occupancy, environmental damage, noise disturbance. Younger groups, educated individuals, local residents, those with exercise purpose more likely perceive conflicts.
