This study presents the synthesis and characterization of hexadecyl-modified SiO2 (HD-SiO2) nanoparticles their application in fabrication a multilayered elastomer hybrid sheet to enhance water resistance implantable biomedical devices. The surface modification was confirmed via FT-IR TGA analyses, showing successful grafting hydrophobic hexadecyl groups. FE-SEM DLS analyses revealed spherical HD-SiO2 with an average size 360 nm.
