Abstract Embryo quality is an important determinant of successful implantation and a resultant live birth. Current clinical approaches for evaluating embryo rely on subjective morphology assessments or invasive biopsy genetic testing. However, both can be inherently inaccurate crucially, fail to improve the birth rate following transfer in vitro produced embryos. Optical imaging offers potential non-invasive accurate avenue assessing viability. Recent advances various label-free optical have garnered increased interest field reproductive biology due their ability rapidly capture images at high resolution, delivering morphological molecular information. This burgeoning holds immense further development, with profound implications translation. Here, our review aims to: (1) describe principles systems, distinguishing between that information, (2) highlight recent application these technologies biology, (3) assess respective merits limitations concerning capacity evaluate quality. Additionally, summarizes challenges translation systems into routine practice, providing recommendations future development. Finally, we identify suitable interrogating mechanisms underpinning

Purpose With the rapid advancement of time-lapse culture and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for embryo screening, pregnancy rates in assisted reproductive technology (ART) have significantly improved. However, clinical fresh cycles remain dependent on number type embryos transferred. The selection with highest implantation potential is critical embryologists influences transfer strategies fertility centers. superiority AI over traditional morphological scoring ranking cleavage-stage based their remains controversial. Methods This retrospective study analyzed 105 at Centre Reproductive Medicine from August 2023 to March 2024, following IVF/ICSI treatment cleavage stage. All were cultured using scored an automated model (iDAScore V2.0). Embryos categorized into three groups iDAScore V2.0: Group A (8 cells, iDA: 1.0-5.7); B 5.8-8.0); C (>8 5.8-8.0). Clinical outcomes, embryonic development, outcomes compared across groups. Results Baseline characteristics such as patient age, AMH levels, AFC, basal sex hormones showed no significant differences among (p > 0.05). iDAscores higher (7.3 ± 0.5) (6.7 (4.8 1.0) < 0.001). mean high-quality was (4.7 3.0), followed by (3.6 1.7) (2.1 1.2) There statistical difference = 0.392) ongoing rate single transfers between (54.5%, 30/55) (38.1%, 8/21), although there a tendency be higher. Conclusion Combining may enhance cycles.

Background: In this research, we retrospectively studied the influence of IVF vs. ICSI technique on embryo morphokinetics by means a time-lapse incubator in fresh cycles. Methods: A total 2645 treatment cycles resulting ovum pick-up 11,471 fertilized oocytes were included research from 2018 to 2022. The embryos grouped according or ICSI. Embryonic development was monitored using incubator, and they transferred day 3 5. Results: group developed faster had less fragmentation. However, fewer 2PNs achieved more discarded compared IVF. When sibling treated with either analyzed, found that resulted quicker higher KIDScores. Discussion: anovulation PCOS subgroups primary contributors high KIDScores oocytes, indicating might have beneficial effects oocyte factors, similar positive results it provides when male factors are involved. Conclusions: Women undergoing better used spontaneous This study reveals is superior female factor infertility.

There are two types of noninvasive biomarkers human embryo developmental potential: those based on a direct assessment morphology over time and using spent media after in vitro culture as source information. Both derived from previously acquired knowledge different aspects pre-implantation development. These include kinetics, chromosomal ploidy status, metabolism, embryonic gene transcription, translation, expression. As to the pertinent data can be obtained by analyzing sequential microscopic images cultured embryos. Spent serve genomic, metabolomic, transcriptomic proteomic markers. Methods used early pioneering studies, such microscopy, fluorescence situ hybridization, autoradiography, electrophoresis immunoblotting, or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, too subjective, invasive, and/or time-consuming. such, they unsuitable for current fertilization (IVF) practice, which needs objective, rapid, selection best uterine transfer cryopreservation. This has been made possible use high-throughput techniques time-lapse (for evaluation), next-generation sequencing, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, high-performance liquid chromatography, nanoparticle tracking analysis, flow cytometry, mass spectroscopy, Raman near-infrared nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy analysis). In this review, individual markers presented systematically, with each marker’s history including available methodologies, strengths, limitations, so make essential information accessible all health professionals, even whose expertise matter is limited.
