ABSTRACT Objectives The aim of this study was to compare the topical therapeutic efficacy triamcinolone acetonide (TA) (0.2%) plus hyaluronic acid (HA) (0.1%) versus monotherapy in patients with symptomatic oral lichen planus (OLP), as well investigate oxidative stress saliva under different treatments. Materials and Methods Sixty OLP were included a randomized, double‐blind, singlecenter treatment duration 28 days 3‐month follow‐up period. Participants randomized into three groups: Group I (TA + HA), II (TA), III (HA). Treatment assessed by means Thongprasom scale, Oral Health Impact Profile‐14 (OHIP‐14), visual analog scale (VAS). In addition, biochemical analyses performed order determine level antioxidant biomarkers saliva, including superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), total capacity (TAC). Results All treatments seem exhibit significant effect accordance ( p < 0.001), VAS reduction OHIP14 0.05), which maintains over time. No changes salivary any groups occurred. Conclusions results exhibited improvement treated all groups. There no condition.

Early diagnosis of oral lichen planus (OLP) is challenging, which traditionally dependent on clinical experience and subjective interpretation. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been widely applied in objective rapid diagnoses. In this study, we aim to investigate the potential AI OLP evaluate its effectiveness improving diagnostic accuracy accelerating decision making. A total 128 confirmed patients were included, lesion images from various anatomical sites collected. The was performed using platforms, including ChatGPT-4O, ChatGPT (Diagram-Date extension), Claude Opus, for directly identification pre-training identification. After feature training, platforms significantly improved, with overall recognition rates Opus increasing 59%, 68%, 15% 77%, 80%, 50%, respectively. Additionally, buccal mucosa reached 94%, 93%, 56%, However, less effectively when recognizing lesions common complex cases; instance, gums only 60%, 20%, demonstrating significant limitations. study highlights strengths limitations different technologies provides a reference future applications medicine.

Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a prevalent oral mucosal disease characterized by an unknown etiology and complex pathogenesis. Patients with OLP endure chronic course marked alternating non-erosive erosive lesions, no definitive cure currently available. Particularly challenging the treatment of recalcitrant OLP, highlighting urgent need for therapies targeting specific pathogenic pathways. In diseases like where etiopathogenesis intricate elusive, animal models are indispensable hypothesis testing elucidating mechanisms. To date, only three lichenoid lesions have been reported in literature. This Perspective paper evaluates these existing models, along novel mouse model introduced at 3rd International Conference on Mucosal Immunity Microbiome. The validity critically assessed, their potential future applications advancing our understanding discussed.

Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the oral mucous membrane, causing discomfort and pain for millions of people worldwide. Challenges in managing OLP include its nature, varied clinical manifestations, poor patient compliance, potential malignant transformation. Recent breakthroughs therapy have opened up new paths dental practitioners, yet persistent difficulties require attention. Topical calcineurin inhibitors, photodynamic treatment, biologics all demonstrated success relieving symptoms delaying disease progression. Furthermore, advances understanding OLP's immunopathogenesis revealed targets targeted treatments, raising hopes more tailored methods. However, obstacles remain, particularly area long-term treatment danger transformation, needing close monitoring interdisciplinary teamwork. This review will attempt to explore therapeutic strategies treating been addressed literature.

Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a well-known chronic inflammatory disorder which linked with alteration in functioning of cell-mediated immune function. It characterised by repeated exacerbations, prolonged evolution, pain, resistant to treatment, thus affecting the quality life patients. The present review focuses on treatment strategies OLP and how these methods improve patient. main aim therapy reducing symptoms eliminating occurrence mucosal related lesions, along reduction oral cancer risk. common modalities are laser, ultraviolet irradiation, immunomodulatory agents, corticosteroids, retinoids etc.

BACKGROUND: Oral cancer has a high worldwide incidence and mortality rate showing an upward trend year by year, predominantly occurring in emerging countries. squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one of the main types oral cancer, accounting for more than 90% all cases cancer. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate diagnostic value 8-hydroxy-2’-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), 8-iso-Prostaglandin F2alpha (8-iso-PGF2α) tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α as biomarkers early carcinogenesis erosive lichen planus (EOLP) measuring their levels blood patients with EOLP (OSCC). METHODS: A total 69 were enrolled this case-control study [including OSCC group (n= 23), age- gender-matched healthy control 23)]. Blood 8-OHdG, 8-iso-PGF2α TNF-α measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Statistical differences these indicators among three groups analyzed. RESULTS: Plasma 8-OHdG significantly higher those both (all P< 0.05); no significant statistical difference was found between group. Serum elevated compared group, 0.05). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves revealed that plasma serum had effects on patients. When combined diagnosis, effect enhanced, area under ROC curve (AUC) values 0.819. CONCLUSION: may serve biological monitoring EOLP, augmented when combined.
