Background: This study aimed to determine the predictors of nursing students’ preparedness for disease outbreaks and relationships between knowledge Mpox, media exposure, clinical experience, as moderated by demographic variables. One hundred respondents were selected using stratified random sampling from four academic levels at University Gitwe. Methods: The employed a Quantitative research design. results indicated that had high Mpox (66%), exposure (mean = 2.69, SD 0.743), substantial experience 2.58, 0.794). Despite facing certain challenges, there was level outbreaks, particularly concerning 2.77, 0.73). Findings: found negligible non-significant correlation with (rho -0.077, p 0.445). Conversely, exhibited moderate positive 0.636, < 0.001), while showed but relationship (R² 0.142). Conclusion: findings suggest training programs enhance manage outbreaks. Media identified most significant predictor preparedness. Based on these findings, it is recommended integrate literacy, structured training, disaster workshops into education curricula strengthen capacity respond public health emergencies effectively.

Abstract Background Monkeypox has emerged as a global health concern, necessitating preventive measures and awareness among healthcare students. Understanding nursing students’ fears, concerns, practices regarding can help improve preparedness response strategies. Aim This study aimed to assess the levels of fear, related monkeypox students at Beni Suef University, Egypt, during 2024–2025 academic year. Methods A cross-sectional descriptive design was employed, involving 505 systematically randomized recruited. Data collection utilized three validated tools: Fear Scale, Concern Preventive Practices Scale. Reliability confirmed with Cronbach’s alpha values ranging from 0.87 0.94. analysis included statistics, Spearman correlation, multiple linear regression using SPSS Version 23. Results Most (56.2%) rarely worried about infection, though 49.2% reported anxiety influenced by media coverage. High were noted, 60.6% frequently practicing hygiene measures. strong positive correlation between concern fear ( r = 0.646, p < 0.001) moderate 0.229, 0.001). also significantly correlated 0.432, Multiple (R² 0.216, F 22.633, revealed that predictor practices, while had but non-significant effect (B 0.138, 0.156). Mpox is a zoonotic viral disease that presents significant public health challenges. Despite the pivotal role of healthcare workers, research on their knowledge and attitudes towards mpox limited. This study aimed to assess workers' knowledge, awareness attitude regarding as well associated factors at Rivers State University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria. A descriptive cross-sectional design was employed, utilizing 34-item semi-structured questionnaire. Knowledge levels were categorized good (> 70% score), fair (50-69%), or poor (< 50%), while classified positive moderate negative 50%). Statistical analyses included independent sample T-test, One-way Analysis Variance, Chi-square tests. Among total 227 professionals, majority females (59%) singles (54.2%). Over 79% correctly identified infection, 59.9% recognized its potential transmission through monkey bite. Overall, 22.5% demonstrated knowledge. Majority (61.7%) acknowledged worldwide pandemic, with 89% agreeing it could strain affected countries' systems. Healthcare workers exhibited mpox. Gender (Males, (p = 0.003), age 40 years 0.008), experience (6-10 years; < 0.001), professional qualification (physicians, 0.002), previous training 0.001) significantly influenced levels, but no associations found between demographic variables attitudes.
