Zearalenone (ZEA) is a mycotoxin commonly found in moldy cereals and has range of toxic effects that have seriously affected animal husbandry. Rutin, natural flavonoid with antioxidant activities, been studied for its potential involvement mitigating ZEA-induced apoptosis porcine endometrial stromal cells (ESCs) molecular mechanism, particularly concerning the expression Nrf2. This study investigates pathways by which rutin alleviates ESC apoptosis, focusing on role Experimental data reveal ZEA suppresses Nrf2 nuclear translocation reduces mitochondrial membrane (MMP), leading to oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS), pathway-driven apoptosis. Notably, mitigates through activation. These findings highlight as critical factor rutin's protective against offering valuable insights clinical prevention treatment toxicity.

Equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) is a significant pathogen that causes substantial economic losses in the equine industry worldwide, which leads to severe respiratory diseases and abortions horses. However, reports of EHV-1 infection donkeys are limited, particularly China. This case study reported an EHV-1-induced disease Dezhou donkey foals Shandong Province, China, July 2024. Three one-month-old exhibited high fever, nasal discharge, distress, with 100% mortality rate. The causative agent, strain LC126, was isolated from foal exhibiting disease. Phylogenetic analysis isolate LC126 showed close similarity EHV-1. Overall, our revealed can cause distress as well death donkeys. underscores emerging threat highlights need for veterinarians breeders give proper attention potential outbreaks.

Equine breeding plays an essential role in the local economic development of many countries, and it has experienced rapid growth China recent years. However, equine industry, particularly large-scale donkey farms, faces a significant challenge with pregnancy losses. Unfortunately, there is lack systematic research on abortion during breeding. Several causes, both infectious non-infectious, losses have been documented equines. The causes are viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi. Non-infectious may include long transportation, ingestion mycotoxins, hormonal disturbances, twinning, placentitis, umbilical length torsion, etc. In current review, we discuss transmission routes, diagnostic methods, control measures for these agents. Early detection cause appropriate management crucial preventing loss practice. This review aims to provide comprehensive understanding potential equines, including agents non-infectious factors. It emphasizes importance continued effective address this industry.

Equid alphaherpesvirus type 8 (EHV-8) is a contagious pathogen that causes reproductive disorders, respiratory diseases, and viral encephalitis in equids, resulting significant economic losses for the global horse donkey industries. Currently, there are no approved antiviral drugs or vaccines available EHV-8 control. In this study, we investigated efficacy of celastrol against both vitro vivo. Our results demonstrated significantly inhibited infection Rabbit kidney (RK-13) equine dermal cells (NBL-6) dose-dependent manner. Mechanistic studies revealed interfered with replication at multiple stages cycle. Furthermore, found induced an interferon response through activation Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway. Importantly, treatment reduced ameliorated lung pathology mouse model. These findings suggest may represent promising therapeutic agent infections.

This review article highlights the surveillance of bacterial, viral, and parasitic diseases in donkey populations China. Key findings highlight significant threats from Equine herpesviruses (EHV-8 EHV-1), which cause encephalitis, abortion, respiratory distress. Several infections including Giardia duodenalis, Cryptosporidium spp., Enterocytozoon bieneusi, Toxoplasma gondii present important zoonotic concerns across multiple regions Additionally, this synthesizes current knowledge on microbiota various body sites examines their functional significance health disease. The complex relationship between host represents a critical area research donkeys. Recent molecular advancements have enhanced our understanding diverse microbial ecosystems inhabiting different donkeys profound impact outcomes. Equine herpesvirus type 8 (EHV-8) is predominantly isolated from donkeys, but its biological properties and pathogenic potential remain underexplored. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics pathogenicity of EHV-8 LCDC01 isolate by examining effects in rabbit kidney (RK-13) cells BALB/c mice. The virus was assessed for ability induce viral replication, pathological changes, alterations pro-inflammatory responses. In vitro, infection RK-13 induced characteristic cytopathic effects, including cell contraction, formation grapevine bundle-like structures, detachment. vivo, mice infected with exhibited no clinical signs other than weight loss. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis detected DNA exclusively lungs mice, while TaqMan PCR further confirmed presence nucleic acids lungs, liver, brain, intestines. Furthermore, ELISA assays revealed a significant increase secretion cytokines, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IFN-α, (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that primarily replicates lung tissue can inflammatory provides valuable insights into mechanisms lays groundwork investigation impact on equine animal populations.
