Klebsiella pneumoniae is a critical nosocomial pathogen with rising incidence in antibiotic resistance worldwide. Multidrug-resistant strains of K. pose major health threat, particularly to immunosuppressed and elderly patients. To date, no effective vaccine formulations have been developed. This study focuses on the detection and co-occurrence of Acanthamoeba Klebsiella pneumoniae in freshwater river systems. Both microorganisms are known for their pathogenic potential, with capable causing infections such as amoebic keratitis, K. being a common cause community infections. Understanding presence distribution natural aquatic environments can provide insights into potential public health risks, especially regions significant human-water interactions.
