This study investigated the impact of varying dietary protein–energy ratios on intestinal microbiota composition in postpartum weaned female yak. For this study, forty yaks were divided into four groups and provided with different treatments (group FA: high-energy high-protein, FB: low-protein, FC: low-energy FD: control group, 48% alfalfa hay, oat grass, 4% premix) to investigate variations microflora profiles metabolic responses. Rectal fecal samples (n = 24 × 2) collected at day 15 30, from all groups, total DNA was extracted estimate microbial heterogeneity community structures by 16S rRNA sequencing focusing V3–V4 regions, using Illumina Nova Seq 6000 platform. The results revealed a 5,669,645 raw data sequences (3,189,115 2,480,530 respectively). Results showed that FA FB had enhanced protein metabolism diversity, which marked significant increase (p < 0.05) abundance Ruminococcus. Conversely, FD group low level diversity predominance Clostridium Proteobacteria, indicating dysbiosis stress. It concluded imbalanced diets (groups FC FD) upregulated stress-related pathways no favorable shifts, whereas, significantly supported involved amino acids carbohydrate beneficially shifted gut microbiota. These findings emphasize importance supplementation appropriate proportions energy feed promote optimal health functioning, particularly for inhabiting high-altitude is challenging environment.
