Accurate near-surface wind speed and direction measurements are crucial for validating atmospheric models, especially the purpose of adequately assessing interactions between surface wind, which in turn results characteristic vertical profiles. Coastal regions pose unique challenges due to discontinuity land sea complex interplay stability, topography, boundary/layer dynamics. This study focuses on a database profiles collected over several years at World Meteorological Organization—Global Atmosphere Watch (WMO/GAW) coastal site southern Italian region Calabria (Lamezia Terme, code: LMT). By leveraging remote sensing technologies, including lidar combined with situ measurements, this work comprehensively analyzes circulation low altitudes narrowest point entire peninsula. Seasonal, daily, hourly multiple heights analyzed, highlighting patterns variations induced by land–sea interactions. A case integrating Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite images observations demonstrates importance multi-sensor approaches capturing dynamics model simulations. Data analyses demonstrate occurrence extreme events during winter spring seasons, linked synoptic flows; fall seasons have variable patterns, while summer, low-speed winds breeze regimes tend prevail. The prevailing is westerly nature, accordance other studies large-scale flows.
