Differences in Personality Between High-Ability and Average-Ability University Students

Despite
the
growing
body
of
research
examining
personality
traits
individuals
with
high
abilities,
little
clarity
exists
about
how
they
differ
from
general
population,
especially
within
university
context.
This
study
aimed
to
identify
distinct
by
268
high-ability
students
alongside
a
matched
average-ability
group
through
retrospective
ex
post
facto
design.
Results
revealed
significant
differences
only
in
trait
responsibility
(p
=
0.037),
lower
scores
observed
among
students.
outcome
may
be
related
specific
academic
environmental
factors,
such
as
insufficient
challenges.
It
can
concluded
that,
although
stereotypes
often
associate
certain
traits,
openness
experience,
present
results
do
not
reflect
differences.
