Background The advanced lung cancer inflammation index (ALI) is a composite that combines and nutritional status, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) associated with inflammation, obesity. This study aimed to investigate the possible relationship between ALI NAFLD. Methods We extracted cohort datasets from 2017–2020 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) for study. Weighted analyses multivariate linear regression models were applied assess association Fitted curves threshold effects used characterize nonlinear relationships. Results A total of 6,595 adults aged 18–80 years included in this In analysis, there was significant positive NAFLD [OR: 1.02, 95% CI (1.01, 1.02)]. subgroup analyses, maintained females 1.02)] not males. addition, we found nonlinear, an L-shaped inflection point 32.47. showed U-shaped male population, 40.65, female 30.61. Conclusion Our suggests high levels prevalence US adult population. However, more clinical studies are needed confirm finding.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between visceral adiposity index (VAI) and lipid accumulation products (LAP) frailty (FI) in older Americans. Based on data from 2007–2018 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), population consisted 3,396 adults aged 60 years with a mean age 69.48 ± 6.76 years. findings weighted multivariate regression analysis demonstrated strong correlation prevalence greater VAI LAP. In fully adjusted model, association remained significant, an OR 1.49 (95% CI: 1.26, 1.77; p < 0.0001.) LAP also 1.88 1.55, 2.29; 0.0001). Further nonlinear analyses by generalized additive modeling (GAM) revealed significant relationships frailty, effects were more pronounced female population. Subgroup showed that positive correlations across populations there no interaction most subgroups. addition, sensitivity validated robustness these results, further confirming conclusion as independent risk factors for frailty. Finally, ROC outperformed predicting suggesting potential early screening Overall, are elderly have important clinical applications.

This study examines the link between serum manganese (Mn) levels and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), with a focus on gender differences. Utilizing data from NHANES 2017-2018, we included participants aged 18 older, excluding those without ultrasonic assessment, Mn data, or hepatitis significant alcohol use. The final analysis comprised 4,294 individuals, 2,708 in NAFLD group 1,586 non-NAFLD group. Serum was quantified via inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. We compared demographic health-related variables groups using appropriate statistical tests categorized into quartiles based levels. Multivariate logistic regression spline analyses were conducted to evaluate association risk by gender. significantly elevated individuals (9.06 vs. 9.33 μg/L, Z = 2.815, p 0.005). After adjustments, males third quartile showed higher (OR 1.575; 95% CI: 1.193-2.087), while females fourth also had increased 1.725; 1.313-2.269), both first (p < 0.01). A positive dose-response relationship found for genders (P trend <0.01), nonlinear associations nonlinearity <0.01) linear 0.818). Significant interactions ethnicity hypertension noted. Higher are associated genders, highlighting need gender-specific considerations future studies clinical practices.

Background Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become a significant global public health challenge, which was reported to be highly correlated with the triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI). Nevertheless, literature exploring association between changes in TyG-BMI and CKD incidence is scant, most studies focusing on individual values of TyG-BMI. We aimed investigate whether cumulative average were associated incidence. Methods Data our study obtained from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), an ongoing nationally representative prospective cohort study. The exposure 2011 2015. calculated by formula ln [TG (mg/dl) × FBG (mg/dl)/2] BMI (kg/m 2 ), as follows: (TyG-BMI + 2015 )/2. Logistic regressions used determine different quartiles Meanwhile, restricted cubic spline applied examine potential nonlinear In addition, subgroup analysis test robustness results. Results Of 6117 participants (mean [SD] age at baseline, 58.64 [8.61] years), 2793 (45.7%) men. During 4 years follow-up, 470 (7.7%) incident cases identified. After adjusting for confounders, compared lowest quartile TyG-BMI, 3rd 4th had higher risk onset. ORs 95%CIs [1.509(1.147, 1.990)] [1.452(1.085, 1.948)] respectively. showed liner ( p -nonlinear = 0.139). Conclusions independently middle-aged older adults. Monitoring long-term may assist early identification individuals high CKD.

The incidence of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) among individuals with hyperuricemia is significantly high. aim this study was to identify effective biomarkers for the detection MASLD patients hyperuricemia. We conducted an analysis involving 3424 participants from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (1999-2020). To potential significant variables, we employed Boruta's algorithm, SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) random forests. Multivariable logistic regression models were utilized assess odds ratio (OR) developing MASLD. evaluate accuracy clinical value our prediction model, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves decision curve (DCA) curves. Among population (mean [SD] age, 54 [20] years, 1788 [52.22%] males) hyperuricemia, 1670 had Using SHAP forests, suggested that Triglyceride Glucose-Waist Circumference (TyG_WC) one most variables in predicting risk, area under (AUROC) 0.865. restricted spline (RCS) revealed a positive association between TyG_WC MASLD, when compared lowest quantile TyG_WC, risk highest 137.96 times higher. predictive strategy incorporating notably enhanced threshold probabilities spanning approximately 0% 100%, resulting improvement net benefit.
