Background: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a serious diabetic complication and the performance of serum Klotho in DKD’s prognostic evaluation controversial. Objective: To assess association with adverse non-kidney clinical outcomes patients DKD. Design: Clinical studies regarding relationship DKD were included. Study quality was assessed using Newcastle–Ottawa scale. Subgroup sensitive analyses performed to search for source heterogeneity. Data sources methods: We comprehensively searched PubMed, Embase, Web Science, Cochrane library databases up 27 September 2022. The associations albuminuria, such as urinary albumin creatinine ratio (UACR), persistent estimated glomerular filtration rate decline, retinopathy, cardiovascular morbidity, mortality, evaluated. indicators, correlation coefficient ( r), odds (OR), relative risk, hazard ratio, retrieved or calculated from eligible studies. Results: In all, 17 involving 5682 participants fulfilled inclusion criteria included this meta-analysis. There no significant UACR [summary r, −0.28 (−0.55, 0.04)] high By contrast, strong observed [pooled OR, 1.60 (1.15, 2.23)], 2.78 (2.11, 3.66)], combined 1.96 (1.45, 2.65)] moderate analysis indicated that age, study design, may be Conclusion: A decreased level possibly associated an increased risk developing patients; thus, possible biomarker predict outcomes. Additional are needed clarify validate Klotho’s value.

The inverse relationship between serum Klotho levels and systemic inflammation, particularly C-reactive protein (CRP), has been suggested in limited studies. However, the association within a large diverse population remains underexplored. We conducted cross-sectional study using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to investigate CRP among nationally representative sample of US population. Multiple linear regression analyses were performed assess this while adjusting for relevant covariates. Stratified analysis with interaction, restricted cubic splines (RCS) employed support research objectives. A total 5901 participants had mean age 57.9 ± 11.0 years, 49.4% them being male 50.6% female. negative was revealed fully adjusted model (β -0.26; 95% CI -0.41∼-0.11). When taken as quartiles Q1 reference, β that lowest Q4 − 0.1 (95% -0.16∼-0.04, p-value = 0.002) 4, respectively. These statistics robust stratified analyses. While our demonstrates an CRP, suggesting potential cardioprotective role Klotho, it is important note design does not permit establishment causality. Therefore, we cannot definitively conclude increasing will directly reduce cardiovascular risk. Our findings do, however, highlight need further explore therapeutic target health.

Abstract This cross-sectional study examined data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted between 2007 2016, ultimately including 12,442 participants to explore association serum Klotho levels asthma prevalence. IBL ELISA method, while diagnosis relied on participant responses NHANES questionnaires. A weighted multifactorial logistic regression analysis evaluated relationship, a smoothing curve assessed potential nonlinearity .After adjusting for confounding variables, significant inverse was found concentrations incidence. Specifically, each unit increase in log-transformed reduced risk by 48% (OR:0.52;95% CI:0.38–0.69). The also revealed that lowest quartile had higher prevalence of compared those highest (OR:0.58;95% CI:0.45–0.76).Subgroup analyses indicated interactions related drinking status history cardiovascular disease. Notably, did not identify non-linear relationship. These findings suggest lower are significantly associated with middle-aged elderly Americans, highlighting need further cohort studies clarify causal relationship these variables.
