Abstract Background There is limited evidence of the associations between postural-derived sitting time, waist-worn derived sedentary time and children’s health moderation effect physical activity (PA). This study examined device-measured with cardiometabolic risk factors, including by activity. Methods Cross-sectional baseline data from children (mean-age 8.2 ± 0.5 years) in Melbourne, Australia (2010) participating TransformUs program were used. Children simultaneously wore an activ PAL to assess ActiGraph GT3X intensity. Cardiometabolic factors included: adiposity (body mass index [BMI], waist circumference [WC]), systolic diastolic blood pressure (SBP, DBP), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density (LDL), cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), serum insulin, 25-hydroxyvitaminD (25[OH]D). Linear regression models ( n = 71–113) assessed each factor, adjusted for different PA intensities (i.e. light [LIPA], moderate-vigorous [MVPA], separately on model), age, sex, adiposity, clustering school. Interaction terms moderation. The analyses repeated using GT3X) comparison. Results Sitting was positively associated SBP b 0.015; 95%CI: 0.004, 0.026), DBP 0.012; 95%CI:0.004, 0.020), FPG 0.001; 0.000, 0.000), after adjusting higher intensities. association insulin 0.003; 0.006) attenuated When LIPA MVPA, there a negative LDL =-0.001; -0.002, -0.000 -0.003, -0.000, respectively). WCz =-0.003; -0.005, 0.000) BMIz -0.006, -0.000) when MVPA. Sedentary triglycerides 0.001) but No effects found. Conclusions Higher volumes some adverse children. These more evident predictor. suggests that reducing spent may benefit outcomes, future experimental research needed confirm causal relationships identify biological mechanisms might be involved. This literature review delves into the impact of regular physical activity on lipid profiles and cardiovascular health in adolescents, addressing growing concern sedentary lifestyles unhealthy habits contributing to increased disease risks among teenagers. By systematically searching academic databases scientific journals using relevant keywords, a selection 8 articles was chosen for after rigorous screening eligibility assessment. The findings underscore significant relationship between activity, metabolic parameters, risk factors adolescents. Studies consistently highlight benefits improving profiles, insulin sensitivity, overall parameters this population. For instance, adolescents engaging moderate high-intensity demonstrated reduced syndrome improved sensitivity. Lifestyle modifications encompassing dietary changes were associated with positive alterations glycemic particularly high-risk pediatric individuals. Notably, vigorous-intensity found yield favorable cardiometabolic outcomes type 2 diabetes. In conclusion, emphasizes critical role maintaining managing Participation at high intensity, holds promise improvements parameters. These importance promoting active teenagers prevent enhance outcomes.
