Heterogeneous and dynamic impacts of carbon emissions on PPI and CPI: important insights into the consequences on the price system in tackling climate change

Reducing
carbon
emissions
is
critical
for
addressing
the
challenges
of
climate
change
and
represents
an
important
step
toward
achieving
United
Nations
Sustainable
Development
Goals
(SDGs).
How

minimize
disruptions
price

economic
system
during

requires
systematic
investigation.
In
this
paper,
nonlinear
impact
on
PPI
(Producer
Price
Index)
CPI
(Consumer
deeply
explored
by
using
Quantile-on-Quantile
approach.
addition,
dynamic
characteristics
in
short-,
middle-
long-term
are
systematically
investigated
through
wavelet
decomposition.
It
found
that,
general,
there
significant
heterogeneity
with
movement
quantiles
two
factors.
From
a
perspective,
not
obvious
short-term,
shows
negative
effect
middle-term,
exhibits
volatile
effects
the-long
term
across
different
PPI.
contrast,
relatively
insignificant.
However,
middle-term
long-term,
have
certain
quantile
intervals.
Further
analysis
reveals
exerts
positive
CPI,
becoming
more
pronounced
over
time.
These
findings
offer
valuable
insights
mitigating

innovation
serves
as
a
driving
force
for
enterprises
to
enhance
their
competitiveness
and
may
offer
an
effective
pathway
reducing
carbon
emissions.

study,
using
data
on
green
emissions
from
publicly
listed
companies
between
2000
2022,
examines
the
impact
of
enterprise
its
specific
transmission
channels.

findings
reveal
that:
1)
significantly
reduces
emissions,

inhibitory
effect
remains
robust
across
series
stability
tests.

Mechanistically,
primarily
decreases
through
improvements
in
energy
efficiency
specialization
management.
