Based on China's provincial panel data from 2011 to 2021, this study examines the relationship between Internet development and regional innovation efficiency. As a critical aspect of the industry 4.0 era, application artificial intelligence (AI) is significant to environmental governance. It serves as crucial driving force in assisting enterprises transition toward low-carbon practices. This paper examines China's A-share industrial from 2011 2022, constructs and trains word vector model extract AI-related terms, impact AI applications on carbon emission intensity these investigated. The findings reveal that enhancing level can effectively decrease intensity. Specifically, 1% increase leads reduction 0.0395% Further analysis indicates diminish their by optimization supply chain green technology innovation. Purpose The deep integration of the digital economy and construction industry is a crucial pathway for promoting green transformation high-quality development sector. This study investigates spatiotemporal evolution coupling coordination degree (CCD) between (DE) in (HQDCI) across different provinces China. It also identifies key obstacle factors, aiming to provide theoretical support practical guidance context economy. Design/methodology/approach Utilizing panel data from 30 China 2013 2022, this constructs comprehensive evaluation index system DE HQDCI. entropy weight TOPSIS method employed measure levels two systems. further applies model, Dagum Gini coefficient an model analyze differentiation characteristics, regional disparity sources factors their CCD. Findings HQDCI both exhibit “east-high, west-low” gradient. CCD increased 0.334 0.445 although it remains at elementary stage. spatial pattern reveals multi-layered structure characterized by “eastern leadership, central catch-up, western differentiation,” with inter-regional contributions exceeding 70% particularly pronounced east-west gap. Furthermore, core show heterogeneity: primarily constrained shortage IT talent imbalances technology market, while limited redundant infrastructure mismatches supply demand. Originality/value first integrate within unified framework, thereby unveiling co-evolutionary mechanisms. Quantifying provides empirical evidence precise policymaking.
