Organizations involved with gene editing may engage the public to share information and address concerns about technology. It is unclear, however, if shared aligns what people want know. We aimed understand members of know in animals by soliciting their questions through an open-ended survey question comparing them posed Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) webpages developed stakeholder organizations. Participants (338 USA residents) asked most general animal welfare. In contrast, FAQ focused on regulations. The participants demonstrate a range knowledge interests. discrepancy between participant provided suggests that stakeholders might more meaningful engagement actual from opening up opportunities for real dialogue.

Educated consumer food choices not only enhance personal health but can also contribute to environmental, economic, and social well-being, as well sustainability. This exploratory study examines Canadian consumers’ perceptions of sustainable innovative food, along with their sources information. It uses nationwide survey data statistical tests (chi-square Kruskal–Wallis tests) test differences between different demographic groups. Results show that consumers refer mostly the ecological aspect sustainability in food-buying behavior. Web-based information was a widely consulted source about food-related innovation, although it ranked low among terms trust level. The most trusted innovation were mainly institutional—medical professionals university scientists. Survey results demonstrate varied socio-demographic segments. current insights be used guide policymakers making informed guidelines recommendations inform food-consumption practices.

Gene editing contributes to enhancing food security through the creation of novel foods. However, public perception gene-edited (GE) foods is crucial their acceptance and adoption. This study expanded knowledge–attitude–practice model constructed an integrated framework comprising four dimensions: demographic factors, scientific literacy beliefs, social trust, perceptions gene technology, aimed at explaining public’s attitudes toward GE A questionnaire survey was conducted (N = 649), revealing a positive attitude foods, with over 80% expressing certain willingness pay (WTP) for them. Factors such as income level, subjective knowledge, trust in scientists, government, national technological capabilities perceived benefits positively correlated WTP. Although food irradiation is deemed safe and endorsed by health-related organizations worldwide, consumers are reluctant to accept the technology. Yet, consumer acceptance critical as has significant potential for increasing safety availability of globally. To communicate about irradiation, science communicators should understand psychology behind consumers' decision making related irradiated foods. Using empirical research, we developed a theoretical model used structural equation modeling determine how nine variables affect behavioral intentions toward ground beef. The Japanese Health Ministry recently granted permission for the market distribution of genome-edited (GE) foods, yet there remains a lack full understanding among consumers regarding this technology. In study, we conducted survey to assess acceptability GE foods and examined impact providing information about on their acceptability. We web-based 3,408 aged 20-69 years, focusing three aspects: (1) commercial availability (2) consumption by others, (3) your own foods. findings revealed that participants were most accepting followed acceptance being commercially available. Notably, participants' increased in all aspects after they viewed an informative video. video had particularly strong who fully or partially understood its content, compared those did not. Furthermore, regression analyses showed two key areas, namely "Why are important" "What procedures place ensure safety foods," played crucial role increasing Overall, these results indicate can effectively enhance such highlight importance benefits measures associated with influencing consumer attitudes.
