The
yak
(Bos
grunniens)
was
domesticated
in
the
high-altitude
QTP.
Research
about
their
genetic
diversity
and
population
structure
is
limited.
In
this
study,
we
resequenced
genome
of
494
domestic
yaks
using
Specific-Locus
Amplified
Fragment
Sequencing
(SLAF-seq).
survey
conducted
on
six
populations
sampled
from
isolated
locations
China

to
analyze
diversity.

clearly
grouped
into
two
independent
clusters,
with
Jinchuan,
Changtai,
Jiulong

Subei
yak
is
an
essential
local
in
the
Gansu
Province,
which
genetic
resource
has
recently
been
discovered.
It
a
meat-milk
dual-purpose
variety
with
high
fecundity
and
relatively
stable
population
structure.
However,
its
structure
diversity
are
yet
to
be
reported.
Therefore,
this
study
aimed
identify
molecular
markers
of
genome
by
whole-genome
resequencing,
analyze
yak.
This
screened
12,079,496
single
nucleotide
polymorphism
(SNP)
20
yaks
using
resequencing
technology.
Of
these
SNPs,
32.09%
were
located
intronic
region
genome.
Principal
component
analysis,
phylogenetic
analysis
revealed
that
belonged
independent
group
domestic
population.
A
selective
clearance
was
carried
out
on
other
yaks,
genes
under
positive
selection
annotated.
The
functional
enrichment
showed
possessed
prominent
characteristics
terms
external
environment
perception,
hypoxia
adaptation,
muscle
development.
Furthermore,
excellent
fat
deposition
meat
quality
traits.
Thus,
will
serve
as
reference
for
discovering
structure,
evolution,
unique
traits
expanding
variation
catalog
yaks.

The
Bazhou
yak,
a
major
native
meat
yak
breed
in
Xinjiang,
China,
is
renowned
for
its
fast
growth
rate,
strong
adaptability,
and
particularly
high
intramuscular
fat
(IMF)
content.
However,
limited
knowledge
regarding
phylogenetic
history
genomic
composition
has
hindered
long-term
conservation
utilization.
This
study
evaluated
the
genetic
diversity,
population
phylogenetics,
genome-wide
selective
sweep
analysis
(GWSA)
of
100
newly
obtained
yaks
through
genome
resequencing,
as
well
340
public
genomes
from
nine
other
populations
on
Qinghai–Tibet
Plateau.
results
revealed
moderate
lower
inbreeding
levels,
rapid
linkage
disequilibrium
(LD)
decay
yaks.
Principal
component
(PCA)
showed
clear
separation
populations,
indicating
an
independent
population.
Furthermore,
less
differentiation
was
found
between
Huanhu
while
ADMIXTURE
common
ancestral
lineage
yaks,
important
contribution
Qinghai
to
GWSA
identified
total
833
selected
genes
using
top
5%
interaction
windows
both
parameters
(FST,
Pi
ratio,
XP-EHH).
A
significant
number
these
are
related
synthesis

Background
Yaks
are
a
vital
livestock
in
the
Qinghai-Tibetan
Plateau
area
for
providing
food
products,
maintaining
sustainable
ecosystems,
and
promoting
cultural
heritage.
Because
of
uncontrolled
mating,
it
is
impossible
to
estimate
inbreeding
level
yak
populations
using
pedigree-based
approaches.
With
aims
accurately
evaluate
two
Chinese
(Maiwa
Jiulong),
we
obtained
genome-wide
single
nucleotide
polymorphisms
(SNPs)
by
DNA
sequencing
calculated
five
SNP-by-SNP
estimators
