Abstract Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and its subclinical form categorized as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), are severe mood disorders characterized by cyclical depressive symptoms, anxiety, irritability, other functional impairments, impacting a broad range of women during the late luteal phase. The estrogen receptor 1 ( ESR1) gene encodes alpha (ERα) which plays critical role in mediating signaling regulates various physiological psychological processes. In this study, we investigated relationship between six single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) intron 4 ESR1 symptom severity, emphasizing symptom- genotype associations SNP interactions. Results demonstrated that specific SNPs were linked to distinct profiles, such difficulty concentrating, sleep disturbances. Interactions revealed both risk-enhancing protective effects. These findings suggest symptoms may stem from genotype-linked reduced sensitivity ovarian hormones, providing foundation for future research.

Abstract Background Premenstrual disorder (PMD), which includes premenstrual syndrome and dysphoric disorder, has a complex pathogenesis may be closely related to emotional cognition memory. However, the mechanisms underlying these associations remain unclear. Therefore, this study used machine learning explore roles of various factors that are not typically considered risk-factors for PMD. Methods A predictive model PMD was constructed using dataset questionnaire responses heartrate variability data collected from 60 participants during their follicular luteal phases. Based on Japanese version Symptom Screening Tool, binary objective variable (PMD status) defined as “PMD” moderate-to-severe other conditions “non-PMD.” The contribution each feature assessed Shapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) model-interpretation framework. Abstract We aimed to develop a new screening tool for premenstrual syndrome (PMS) be used in the workplace. In October 2021, we recruited 3,239 working women with menstruation via an internet research company and asked 47 questions about PMS-related symptoms. Of participants, 331 had experienced PMS (10%), 393 taken sick leave because of PMS-associated Explanatory factor analyses maximum likelihood Promax rotation identified four domains 27 items, including "Autonomic dysfunction symptoms'' (13 Cronbach’s α = 0.93), "Psychiatric symptoms" (6 0.94), "Lack work efficiency" (5 “Abdominal symptoms” (3 0.95). Using split-half sample confirmatory analysis, moderately fit model indices four-factor solution were confirmed. also confirmed developed scale’s criterion validity using existing criteria its concurrent through high correlation coefficients Copenhagen Burnout Inventory scores. The receiver operating characteristic curve yielded good predictive ability absenteeism, sensitivity 78%, specificity 57%, area under 0.735. A highly reliable valid scale was efficacy absenteeism.

In this study, we aimed to examine the effectiveness of relaxation training in women with PMDD through a randomized controlled design. Sixty-three were recruited and or control groups. The outcome measurements, administered at baseline post-training, included Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool (PSST), Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS), Nottingham Health Profile (NHP), Sheehan Disability (SDS). intervention group received 12 sessions training, including progressive muscle guided imagination. While there significant differences within group, no found group. Relaxation had positive effect on reducing premenstrual symptoms, anxiety, depression disability improving quality life PMDD. More research is necessary recommend as primary long-term treatment understand how it should be comprehensive plan.

Although 90% of females with a menstrual cycle will experience premenstrual symptoms in their reproductive years, it is estimated that 20% treatment-warranted emotional, behavioral, or somatic the phase cycle. BACKGROUND Perimenopausal syndrome (PMS) is a chronic disease associated with estrogen deficiency. Because of the unsatisfactory outcomes current conventional treatments for this condition, its treatment must be continuously explored and optimized. AIM To assess clinical effectiveness γ-oryzanol in combination Femoston PMS. METHODS A total 119 patients PMS were selected from June 2023 to December 2023, which included 59 60 control observation group, respectively. The groups treated + Femoston, Comparative analyses performed terms effectiveness, safety (dizziness headache, nausea vomiting, breast tenderness), sex hormones [estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating (FSH)], lumbar spine (L1–4) bilateral femoral bone mineral density (BMD), sleep quality (sleeping time frequency awakenings sleep). RESULTS Compared group had statistically higher effective rates treatment; lower overall incidence adverse events; post-treatment E2 levels L1–4 BMD; LH FSH levels, sleeping time, after treatment. CONCLUSION Therefore, PMS, combined significantly better than alone exhibiting more pronounced advantages improving safety, BMD, quality.

Abstract Background Premenstrual disorders (PMDs) significantly affect women’s daily lives. This study evaluated the reliability and validity of Mongolian-translated Symptoms Questionnaire (PSQ) among female nursing students at Mongolian National University Medical Sciences. Factor supported tool’s construct validity, revealing a one-factor structure consistent that original Japanese PSQ. showed strong positive PMDD (r = 0.760), SSS-8 0.640), PHQ-9 0.580), BAI 0.620), indicating good convergent validity. Conclusion reliable valid tool assessing premenstrual symptoms in students. These findings suggest useful screening PMDs this population.
