Abstract Background Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) causes severe economic losses in the poultry industry worldwide. Hence, this study aimed to discover a novel bioactive antiviral agent for controlling NDV. Streptomyces misakiensis was isolated from Egyptian soil and its secondary metabolites were identified using infrared spectroscopy (IR), gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The inhibitory activity of metabolite against NDV examined. Three experimental groups 10-day-old specific pathogen-free embryonated chicken eggs (SPF-ECEs), including control group, positive α-sitosterol mixture-treated group inoculated. Results (Ethyl-6-methylheptan-2-yl]-10,13-dimethyl-dodecahydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-ol), S. , completely inhibited hemagglutination (HA) strain. HA strain 8 log 2 9 0.5 0.75% RBCs, respectively. two concentrations RBCs significantly ( P < 0.0001) after treatment. There significant decrease activity, with values − 0.500 (75%, RBCs) before inoculation SPF-ECEs 1.161 (50%, 1.403 following SPF-ECE inoculation. Compared ECEs inoculated alone, α-sitosterol-treated showed improvement histological lesion ratings chorioallantoic membranes (CAM) hepatic tissues. CAM α-sitosterol- preserved. epithelial stromal layers noticeably thicker extensive hemorrhages, clogged vasculatures, certain inflammatory cells stroma layer group. However, mild edema cell infiltration observed treated alone normal histology acini, central veins, portal triads. Severe degenerative alterations, steatosis, sinusoids, Mild perivascular round infiltration, Conclusion To best our knowledge, is first highlight that potentially metabolite, α-sitosterol, belonging terpene family, has potential be biological weapon virulent It could used development innovative drugs further clinical investigation.

This study evaluates the chemical composition, fatty acid profiles, and bioactive properties of ethanolic (SPE), methanolic (SPM), acetonic (SPA) extracts Arthrospira platensis. The analysis revealed a high protein content (72.08%), moderate lipid levels (6.49%), diverse profile, dominated by polyunsaturated acids. Antibacterial testing showed that SPE exhibited strongest activity against Gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), Enterobacter cloacae 49141), Proteus mirabilis 25933), Salmonella typhi 6539), typhimurium 14028), enteritidis 13076), gallinarum 9184), Pseudomonas aeruginosa 27853). anticoccidial was also significant, with reducing Eimeria sp. oocyst counts in poultry intestines ceca. Antioxidant highest SPM, which had phenolic content. LC-MS/MS profiling extract various compounds, acids, flavonoids, carotenoids, chlorophylls, phycobiliproteins. These results suggest A. platensis has great potential as nutraceutical supplement farming, offering sustainable alternative to synthetic additives.

There is growing interest in adding marine algae to poultry feed rations. The aim of the present study examine effect various inclusions Sargassum sp., Gracilaria and Spirulina sp. on productive performance, serum proteins, liver meat quality, antioxidant activity broiler chickens. were seven dietary treatments (TRTs) as follows: TRT 1 was control group without algae; 2 enriched with at 1% diet; 3 2% 4 0.5% 5 6 5% 7 7.5% diet. Each treatment replicated ten times, 17 birds per replicate, analyses performed triplicates. Results rations proximate revealed that formulated diets contained required amounts protein, fat, fiber, ash, moisture, be fed no production performance parameters birds. All normally group. It shown enriching diet Induced an increase total while algal inclusion reduced compared At five weeks age, resulted a higher concentration protein-C than inclusion. Enriching 3- wks old broilers elevated proportions LFABP. maximum proportion omega fatty acid (∑n-6) observed received diet, (∑n-3) highest algae-enriched groups. results showed all lowered ratio omega-6 omega-3 acids (∑n-6:∑n-3). chickens increased HDL concentration, palatability for color, texture, flavor, appearance, smell, overall acceptability not negatively affected by inclusions. enhanced anti-oxidative status lipid oxidative stability stored In general, it can concluded used any detrimental effects

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of dietary addition Spirulina platensis (SP) and/or garlic powder (GP) on heat-stressed broiler chickens. For this purpose, 600 Ross-308 chicks were allocated at 22 days age into five groups (G1-G5), each comprising six 20 birds each. Chickens kept in G1 (negative control) fed a basal diet and raised 26 ± 1 °C. G2 G5 exposed periodic heat stress (35 °C for 9 h/day) from 35 old. (positive provided diet, while G3, G4, enriched with SP (1 g/kg diet), GP (200 mg/kg or SP/GP g SP/kg + 200 mg GP/kg respectively. The assessment parameters included chickens' performance, malondialdehyde total antioxidant capacity, blood biochemistry, intestinal morphology, modulation lactobacilli coliforms microbiota. Our findings demonstrated that supplementing chickens significantly mitigated negative effects European production efficiency index (EPEF), survival rate, cholesterol profile, oxidative markers. supplemented exhibited better EPEF survivability rates. Heat had significant impact both gut structure However, supplementation improved increased lactobacilli, reduced coliform contents. It was also found simultaneous feeding led even higher recovery levels lipid metabolites, immunity, status. Overall, can alleviate stress.
