Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) have shown notable protective effects in various diseases. This study aims to investigate the associations between PUFAs intake and both chronic constipation (CC) diarrhea (CD). Data from three survey cycles (2005-2006, 2007-2008, 2009-2010) of National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were used for analysis. 24-hour dietary recall interviews employed evaluate intake. The CC CD analyzed via multivariable weighted logistic regression (WLR). Furthermore, stratified analysis restricted cubic splines carried out. 7723 participants included, among whom 545 (8.35%) patients 579 (7.50%) patients. According results MLR, a nonlinear association was found (P < 0.05), where increased daily related declined prevalence [OR = 0.976 (0.959, 0.993), P 0.007] fully adjusted model. However, there no significant evidence an > 0.05). negatively associated with not strongly CD. It suggested that adjusting may alleviate symptoms. Not applicable.

ABSTRACT Sleep disorders are a common health problem affecting significant proportion of the adult population. Emerging evidence suggests that dietary factors, particularly polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) intake, may play role in modulating sleep quality. This study aims to investigate association between omega‐3 (ω‐3) and omega‐6 (ω‐6) PUFA using cross‐sectional survey data from genome‐wide studies (GWAS). Using National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES, 2005–2018), we analyzed cohort 31,920 participants, with primary independent variables being intake ω‐3 ω‐6 PUFAs. Multivariate regression was used assess associations, restricted cubic spline analysis explore potential non‐linear dose–response relationships. Two‐sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses were performed evaluate causal effects levels multiple acids on risk disorders. For NHANES data, participants had significantly lower (1.71 ± 1.11 g) compared those without (1.78 1.14 g, p < 0.001). Regression revealed higher associated reduced disorders, while MR showed ratio total causally (IVW OR = 0.930, 95% CI: 0.880–0.983, 0.011). Our findings suggest increased FA level be highlighting benefits modification for health. Future research should further these associations consider intervention establish causality optimal recommendations prevent

Objectives This study aimed to investigate the independent and joint association of dietary quality inflammatory potential with four markers among U.S. adults analyze moderating role age. Methods included 19,110 participants from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES, 2009–2018). Dietary were assessed using Healthy Eating Index-2015 (HEI-2015) Inflammatory Index (DII), respectively, thus classified into patterns. white blood cell (WBC), neutrophil (Neu), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII). Weighted multiple linear regression weighted quantile sum (WQS) employed relationships between HEI-2015/DII markers. Joint effect interaction analyses conducted explore impacts different patterns Results HEI-2015 showed significant inverse associations WBC, Neu, NLR, SII, whereas DII exhibited positive these WQS analysis revealed that adequacy components in such as seafood plant proteins, whole grains contributed most reduced inflammation. In contrast, fiber, alcohol, energy intake primary contributors DII. demonstrated compared pattern 1, 4 significantly SII levels. However, no reduction was observed 3. Additionally, age strengthened WBC/Neu, while weakening SII. Conclusion Improving reducing may help lower biomarker levels, playing a critical role. High-quality diets can counteract adverse effects pro-inflammatory diets, solely anti-inflammatory cannot compensate for detrimental low-quality diets. The combined both approaches further enhance outcomes.

Diet habit plays a vital role in fecal incontinence (FI) progression. However, it remains unknown whether dietary quality is related to FI. Our study sought explore the relationship between healthy eating index-2015 (HEI-2015) score and FI among US adults. An analysis of data from 2005–2010 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey was conducted our study. The Bowel Questionnaire defined as losing liquid, solid, or mucus stool at least monthly. diet's evaluated using HEI-2015 score. odds ratios (ORs) 95% confidence interval (95%CI) were calculated multi-variable logistic regression models. There 11,452 participants, with 9.3% (1062/11452) who experienced Compared individuals inadequate group (HEI < 50), adjusted OR values for HEI average (50 ≤ 70) optimal ≥ 0.89 (95%CI: 0.74–1.07, p = 0.214) 0.69 0.52–0.91, 0.011), respectively. Subsequent stratified analyses did not reveal any interactions. High-quality diets are lower risk Therefore, imperative take into account potential impact diet on when devising strategies treatment prevention.
