The prevalence of microplastics (MPs)/ nanoplastics (NPs) in the environment has raised significant concerns regarding their potential toxicity, particularly impact on biological systems. These particles, NPs, possess unique properties due to small size and high surface area, enabling them more easily cross barriers accumulate tissues. Among various types plastic materials, polystyrene (PS) is one most studied for its toxicological effects, given widespread use environmental persistence. This narrative review examines current research effects MPs/NPs, immune system, with a focus both development system functional responses.
