Background/Objectives: Salivary gland carcinomas encompass a broad group of malignant lesions characterized by varied prognoses. Stem cells have been associated with the potential for self-renewal and differentiation to various subpopulations, resulting in histopathological variability diverse biological behavior, features that characterize salivary carcinomas. This study aims provide thorough systematic review immunohistochemical studies regarding expression prognostic significance stem cell markers between different tumors (MSGTs). Methods: The English literature was searched via databases MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE OVID, Web Science, Scopus, CINHAL EBSCO. Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Tool used risk bias (RoB) assessment. Meta-analysis conducted evaluated same pair diseases at least two studies. Results: Fifty-four reported markers, e.g., c-KIT, CD44, CD133, CD24, ALDH1, BMI1, SOX2, OCT4, NANOG, MSGTs. Low, moderate, high RoB observed twenty-five, eleven, eighteen studies, respectively. revealed an outstanding discriminative ability c-KIT adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC) over polymorphous adenocarcinoma [P(LG)A] but did not confirm Conclusions: indicated possible link heterogeneity behavior might be diagnostic value discriminating AdCC P(LG)A.

Cannabinoids relieve pain, nausea, anorexia and anxiety, improve quality of life in several cancer patients. The immunotherapy with checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), although very successful a subset patients, is accompanied by moderate to severe immune-related adverse events (ir-AE) that often necessitate its discontinuation. Because their role symptomatic relief, cannabinoids have been used combination immune inhibitor (ICI) immunotherapy. A few studies strongly suggest the use medicinal cannabis patients attenuates many ir-AE associated ICI increase tolerability. However, no significant beneficial effects on overall survival, progression free survival or relapses were observed; rather, some noted concurrent administration clinical benefits latter. cannabinoids' well documented immunosuppressive mediated through cannabinoid recptor-2 (CB2), we propose considering this receptor as an inhibitory per se. simultaneous neutralization CB2, treatment, may lead better outcomes receiving In regard, such cannabidiol (CBD) cannabigerol (CBG), little agonism for be therapeutic choices. Additional strategies e.g., monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL) degrade endocannabinoids lipogenesis formation lipid bilayers cells also explored. Future should take into consideration gut microbiota, CYP450 polymorphism haplotypes, cannabinoid-drug interactions genetic somatic variations occurring receptors signaling pathways personalized cannabis-based therapies ICIs. This rational knowledge-based regimens tailored individual

In the domain of addressing cancer resistance, challenges such as limited effectiveness and treatment resistance remain persistent. Hypoxia is a key feature solid tumors strongly associated with poor prognosis in patients. Another significant portion development acquired drug attributed to tumor stemness. Cancer stem cells (CSCs), small cell subset self-renewal proliferative abilities, are crucial for initiation, metastasis, intra-tumoral heterogeneity. Studies have shown association between hypoxia CSCs context resistance. Recent studies reveal strong link stemness, which together promote survival progression during treatment. This review elucidates interplay CSCs, well their correlation therapeutic drugs. Targeting pivotal genes stemness holds promise novel therapeutics combat

Abstract Background Surface epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the deadliest gynecological malignancy, mainly due to late-stage diagnosis and therapeutic resistance. Intratumoral heterogeneity, driven by stem cells (CSCs), contributes metastasis, recurrence, therapy Cluster of Differentiation 24 (CD24) has emerged as a promising biomarker linked tumor progression, immune evasion, but further research needed understand its role in progression patient outcomes. Aim This study investigates immunohistochemical expression CD24 malignant surface tumors correlation with clinicopathological parameters Methods We performed retrospective cohort analysis involving 117 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples tumors, retrieved from archives Surgical Pathology Laboratory at our University oncology center period between 2018 2021. Patients underwent surgical resection, follow-up data collected until 2024. Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining for was performed, levels were assessed based on percentage intensity. The factors, disease-free survival (DFS), overall (OS) analyzed using appropriate statistical methods, including Kaplan-Meier Cox regression. Results observed 61.5% cases, varying levels: low (17.9%), moderate (23.1%), high (20.5%). High predominantly HGSC (p = 0.02) significantly associated advanced FIGO stage 0.001), grade lymph node involvement positive peritoneal cytology distant metastases 0.085). Survival revealed that patients exhibited shorter DFS 0.001) non-significant trend toward reduced OS 0.499), compared those lower or absent expression. regression identified an independent predictor poor prognosis, alongside age, stage, involvement. Conclusion overexpression strongly correlated aggressive behavior, These findings support incorporation into risk stratification models highlight potential CD24-targeted therapies improve

SYL3C is an optimized DNA aptamer with high selectivity and affinity for the epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM), overexpressed tumor antigen in colorectal cancer (CRC). While its cellular has been validated, vivo studies are lacking. This study modifies fluorescent motif Cy7 to evaluate metabolism diagnostic potential EpCAM-positive HT-29 xenograft mice using near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF). We also employ Tetrahedra (DTN) load Cy7-DTN-SYL3C probe assess whether this strategy improves circulation uptake of SYL3C. Cy7-SYL3C primarily metabolized by kidneys enables targeted imaging tumors, outperforming untargeted Cy7-DTN. The DTN coupling prolongs enhances about twice higher than over 24 hours. presents preliminary evidence aptamer's CRC. conjugation may extend metabolic stability improve uptake, expanding applications CRC diagnosis treatment.
