The aim of this paper is to provide pharmacy educators with an understanding threshold concepts as a framework that can help understand, and support the internal work involved in professional identity formation (PIF). Threshold are transformative troublesome critical transition from trainee practitioner. In particular, shed light on individual, recursive transformational process learners undertake while they grapple important practices explore what it means be pharmacist. Abstract Background Medical students' professional identity formation (PIF) starts early in their academic journey and is shaped by diverse social influences. Research shows that while participation student organizations cultivates essential skills, it may also reinforce homogeneity prevent cultural change. However, the impact of on PIF remains under‐researched. This study aimed to investigate how a particular organization impacted novice students. Methods We conducted qualitative utilizing constructivist grounded theory rich pictures methodology. interviewed 12 novices, six senior students, three alumni seven teachers from medical school Indonesia. The interviews with students were facilitated Rich Pictures. transcripts iteratively analysed. Results Novice (i.e. first‐year students) participated an orientation programme organized centralized organization. Becoming member this access extracurricular training networking.
