This study investigates the combined effects of polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) and deltamethrin (DEL) on mice, focusing their different impacts among organs. Mice were exposed to PS-NPs and/or DEL for 30 days. Results showed that alleviated DEL-induced oxidative damage in liver kidney by reducing its accumulation due decreased bioaccessibility. Conversely, increased intestine, leading enhanced susceptibility enteric infections caused bacteria, viruses, parasites, as indicated transcriptomic analysis. delayed excretion gastrointestinal motility, evidenced altered neurotransmitter levels, thereby contributing greater intestinal DEL. Moreover, 16S rDNA sequencing revealed tended decrease beneficial bacteria increase pathogenic gut microbiota, further heightening upon coexposure. The findings this shed new light complex health risks associated with coexposure pesticides.

Objective Emerging evidence suggests alterations in gut microbiota (GM) composition following thyroid nodules (TNs) development, yet the causal relationship remains unclear. Utilizing Mendelian Randomization (MR), this study aims to elucidate dynamics between GM and TNs. Methods Employing summary statistics from MiBioGen consortium ( n =18,340) FinnGen (1,634 TNs cases, 263,704 controls), we conducted univariable multivariable MR analyses explore GM-TNs association. Techniques including inverse variance weighted, MR-Egger regression, weighted median, MR-PRESSO were utilized for inference. Instrumental variable heterogeneity was assessed through Cochran’s Q statistic leave-one-out analysis. Reverse applied taxa showing significant forward associations, with multivariate adjustments confounders. Results Our findings suggest that certain microbiota, identified as Ruminococcaceae_NK4A214_group (OR, 1.89; 95%CI, 0.47-7.64; p = 0.040), Senegalimassilia 1.72; 1.03-2.87; =0.037), Lachnospiraceae (OR,0.64; 95%CI,0.41-0.99; =0.045), exhibit a protective influence against TNs’ indicated by negative associations. In contrast, categorized Desulfovibrionales 0.63; 0.41-0.95; =0.028), Prevotella_7 0.79; 0.63-1.00; =0.049), Faecalibacterium 0.66; 0.44-1.00; =0.050), Desulfovibrionaceae 0.55; 0.35-0.86; =0.008), Deltaproteobacteria 0.65; 0.43-0.97; =0.036) are have positive correlation TNs, suggesting they may serve risk factors. did not establish links. After comprehensive adjustment confounders, (Order), (Family), (Class) remain implicated potential contributors risk. Discussion This substantiates link underscoring thyroid-gut axis’s relevance. The advocate integration of profiles prevention management, offering foundation future research domain.
