The Inevitable Fate of Tetranychus urticae on Tomato Plants Treated with Entomopathogenic Fungi and Spinosad

Tetranychus
urticae
(Acari:
Tetranychidae)
is
a
pervasive
and
damaging
mite
pest
of
tomato
crops,
leading
to
important
economic
losses
globally.
This
study
evaluated
the
acaricidal
efficacy
spinosad,
alone
in
combination
with
Beauveria
bassiana
(Bb)
WG-21
Metarhizium
robertsii
(Mr)
WG-04,
laboratory
(application
leaf
discs)
greenhouse
plants),
considering
mortality
establishment,
respectively.
The
treatments
Bb
or
Mr
WG-04
spinosad
achieved
100%
T.
nymphs
within
2
days
on
discs,
while
individual
applications
each
control
agent
resulted
lower
mortalities,
ranging
between
62.91
86.25%
after

Abstract
BACKGROUND
Aphids
are
important
agricultural
and
forestry
pests
that
not
only
directly
harm
plants,
but
also
transmit
various
plant
viruses.
Biological
control,
including
the
use
of
entomopathogenic
fungi
(EPFs)
predatory
natural
enemies,
can
effectively
control
aphids.
However,
there
few
reports
on
combined
enemies
carrying
EPF
to
enhance
efficiency
aphid
control.
RESULTS
In
present
study,
we
evaluated
compatibility
five
strains
with
adults
Harlequin
ladybird
(
Harmonia
axyridis
).

First Activity of Aspergillus flavus as Entomopathogen Infecting Diaphania indica and Control Efficacy Across Different Developmental Stages

Diaphania
indica
(Lepidoptera:
Crambidae)
is
one
of
the
most
important
pests
infesting
many
cucurbitaceous
vegetables.
During
rearing
insect
eggs,
we
observed
a
fungal
infection
in
these
eggs
which
causes
death
pests.
Therefore,
this
work
aimed
to
isolate
and
identify
fungus
by
amplifying
internal
transcribed
spacer
(ITS)
region
rDNA,
as
well
evaluating
efficiency
control.
Aspergillus
flavus,
‘PP125556’,
showcased
robust
pathogenicity
against
range
D.
The
results
showed
that
colonies
‘PP125556’
cultivated
on
potato
dextrose
agar
(PDA)
exhibited
distinctive
morphological
characteristics,
transitioning
from
pristine
white
verdant
green.
Bioassays
demonstrated
concentration-dependent
mortality
rates
larvae
adults
when
exposed
varying
concentrations
conidia,
with
highest
concentration
(1
×
109
conidia/mL)
inducing
significant
death,
(53.06%
for
70.57%
larvae,
86.65%
adults).
Furthermore,
examination
under
stereomicroscope
revealed
conspicuous
external
symptoms
infected
including
reduced
mobility,
darkened
body
pigmentation,

indicative
