Diaphania indica (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is one of the most important pests infesting many cucurbitaceous vegetables. During rearing insect eggs, we observed a fungal infection in these eggs which causes death pests. Therefore, this work aimed to isolate and identify fungus by amplifying internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region rDNA, as well evaluating efficiency control. Aspergillus flavus, ‘PP125556’, showcased robust pathogenicity against range D. The results showed that colonies ‘PP125556’ cultivated on potato dextrose agar (PDA) exhibited distinctive morphological characteristics, transitioning from pristine white verdant green. Bioassays demonstrated concentration-dependent mortality rates larvae adults when exposed varying concentrations conidia, with highest concentration (1 × 109 conidia/mL) inducing significant death, (53.06% for 70.57% larvae, 86.65% adults). Furthermore, examination under stereomicroscope revealed conspicuous external symptoms infected including reduced mobility, darkened body pigmentation, emergence hyphae, indicative mortality. Additionally, inhibited hatching green while displayed hyphae colonization, underscoring potent biocontrol efficacy A. flavus across diverse developmental stages.

Tetranychus urticae (Acari: Tetranychidae) is a pervasive and damaging mite pest of tomato crops, leading to important economic losses globally. This study evaluated the acaricidal efficacy spinosad, alone in combination with Beauveria bassiana (Bb) WG-21 Metarhizium robertsii (Mr) WG-04, laboratory (application leaf discs) greenhouse plants), considering mortality establishment, respectively. The treatments Bb or Mr WG-04 spinosad achieved 100% T. nymphs within 2 days on discs, while individual applications each control agent resulted lower mortalities, ranging between 62.91 86.25% after 3 days. paired treatment + killed all exposed adults 5 d, that same results 7 d. However, ≥77.08% In greenhouse, deterred presence (adults, immatures, eggs) either surface leaves, suppressed populations only adaxial surface. These findings indicate combined tested EPF especially plants under conditions can provide substantially enhanced life stages compared applied alone.

Abstract BACKGROUND Aphids are important agricultural and forestry pests that not only directly harm plants, but also transmit various plant viruses. Biological control, including the use of entomopathogenic fungi (EPFs) predatory natural enemies, can effectively control aphids. However, there few reports on combined enemies carrying EPF to enhance efficiency aphid control. RESULTS In present study, we evaluated compatibility five strains with adults Harlequin ladybird ( Harmonia axyridis ). The pathogenicity, impact function, fertility H. were assessed as indicators, predator was evaluated. results showed four did exhibit direct or indirect pathogenicity toward . Additionally, they significantly affect survival rate, predation egg production hatching rate adult feeding Acyrthosiphon pisum lower than group after 0 h starvation, no significant differences observed following 24 48 starvation. Under semi‐field conditions, release had been treated previously Metarhizium rileyi resulted in a higher A. Rhopalosiphum maidis Day 4 mortality rates 83.33% 98.35%, respectively. comparison, treatment exhibited 46.22% 84.16% mortality, respectively, whereas M. experienced 10.67% 61.06%, CONCLUSION Four isolates effect axyridis. reproduction axyridis, yet conidia two species aphids compared each type enemy alone. Therefore, dissemination may be an efficient low‐cost strategy for controlling © 2025 Society Chemical Industry.
