Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder characterized by pathology that includes the aggregation of alpha-synuclein (α-syn), oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation. While existing treatments can alleviate motor symptoms, they have limited efficacy in slowing progression improving non-motor symptoms. In recent years, molecular hydrogen has been recognized for its potential neuroprotective effects, attributed to selective antioxidant anti-inflammatory properties. preclinical studies demonstrate promising results, clinical trials conducted thus far yielded mixed outcomes, with some reporting or no therapeutic benefit. This review systematically analyzes mechanisms action PD related disorders, emphasizing antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic By evaluating evidence from both studies, this paper explores attenuate modulate inflammatory responses, inhibit apoptosis neuronal cells, while also identifying key gaps current research. As novel agent, holds other diseases, but further well-designed are needed validate efficacy. Future should focus on elucidating through which exerts particularly concerning α-syn clearance pathways, as well Nrf2-mediated immunomodulation. Furthermore, large-scale, multicenter necessary establish benchmarks personalized delivery protocols.
